$3,494 this is grand larceny. He should be fined, return the book and do jail time. A crime is a crime. It couldnít have been weighing too much on his mind as he would have returned it long ago. He even admits that he liked the book so much he kept it knowing he had to return it. No wonder the libraries are folding and hurting for money. Also Iíll be the book being one of a series that no longer is around might be worth some money now. When this guy dies his kids will probably see the book and have a ton of money thanks to dear old light fingers dad.

Wow, I hope you are joking. If you read the book was easily obtainable at the time. Much as a Harry Potter book would be today. Fines top out at $3, if you honestly think he should deserve jail time and pay a 3k fine then you need to learn about the real criminals of our society. Its not like he stole the book out of the library now when it was worth this kind of money.
