Oh, but teachers get paid too much, right?

The people who complain about teacher pay/work schedule couldn't handle krap like this.

Really. So a boss/manager working at a factory, on any type of place couldn't handle this more or the same asa teacher. What type of logic is that. Just because you're a teacher or soon to be one doesn't give you the right to think that they are the only ones that can handle or deal with that type of situation.

Get your head out of the sand would ya.

i agree. i think the students know that the teachers cant do stuff like they use to, so the students run the show. theres no way i could put up with the students these days. i dont know why everyone thinks teachers get paid so well. last time i checked it was around 40000. thats not bad money but there is alot of headaches plus you have to go to school for 4 years.

Hm, reading a bit too much into my post.

I didn't say that teachers are the only people that can handle this. What I'm saying is that people who claim teachers are overpaid and underworked don't know what being a teacher actually entails. Case in point: this story.

The teachers are the ones that tell the children nobody can touch you not even your parents and that has been being told to them for at least 19 years and now they can't control them wonder why

Michael Gantt, lost control. Hothead. Matters not what the issue is with his offspring. He cursed the teacher and behaved badly. Handcuff Michael, take him away from the school. Judge hands down restraining order. Stay out of the school.

This isnt about teachers...any teacher who sighs up to teach should know what they are signing up for...including unruly parents

This is about a parent who deserves to be charged with disorderly conduct. Did he really think threats and profanity would get him anywhere? Or change the outcome in his favor?

Talk about your positive role models!

Right you are! There are obstreperous, horse's rear ends who act up in public settings, curse, threaten, bully, and it just happened that this parent did so in the school. Society takes a dim view of lawbreakers like Michael whether he shows his ill temper in a bar or in the school. He will pay the price. It's TBD if he will get the message and profit from anger management class which the judge will obviously order.

No one should have to be subjected to this sort of asinine behavior. We live in a society and people are expected to act decently. And I think you'd be surprised, teachers have thick skin and can handle it - that doesn't make it right. I refuse to live in a society that tolerates this sort of behavior. I understand this is redneck McConnellsburg - yeah, I expect juvenile behavior from adults there. Isn't that sad? If I lived in McConnellsburg, I'd be trying to buck that stereotype - not enforce it.

So quick to judge and label people,“what do you expect on that side of the mountain. Just another day in the life in redneck land”.

Here’s a question Mr./Ms. Redneck Valley from Greencastle, PA, are we to assume the teachers on “that” side of the mountain is a redneck too?

Let’s start posting the pictures of these individuals in the PO who are arrested for being idiots. They are looking for attention; give them their 15 minutes of fame. Post their mug shot on the front page of the PO, I bet you’ll see a change in “some” people’s behavior.

it is alleged that teachers had been having inappropriate contact with students and if you base teachers pay with what a lap dance costs they are under paid, they are supposed to teach the core subjects not adult oriented matters. There are 100's of teachers that are unemployeed, I believe home school has proven just how important teachers are.

You are an idiot, if a boss or manager received that type of language he would or could fire the person on the spot where a teacher has to take it and smile. There is a big difference between a manager and a teacher. This is the problem today where too many people should not be able to breed are actually having kids. They are not qualified to be parents plain and simple.

Next time a female student is caught in a room performing a sex act on a teacher or administrator, don't pay the parents and the student off and ship the teacher or principal, whatever the case may be, off to another district with rave reviews, cuff them and toss away the key, and don't think that didn't happen, I made no reference to the person or which school, but you had better believe the offending school administration will have this pulled real fast.

PA Law says you can beat your child on their rear end as long as there are no marks left behind....The teachers should be allowed with parental permission to paddle a child that is out of line. Children now do not have any respect for adults because they are given time-outs when they are in grade school and by the time they get to junior high they are out of control, and the parents just try to be their friend instead of their parent.

Sad to say but if this was in Chambersburg, most people would consider this person a hero for threatening or assaulting a teacher. He'd be hoisted on the towns shoulders...sad that this is the world we live in.

We wonder why some of the kids are out of control this day and age. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.

This guy obviously has anger issues. Thankfully, no one was hurt as a result of this incident.
