some1 has been killing pets in Sycamore for almost a decade....every1 knows in psychology that it is the behavior that can lead to a serial killer! God knows all and I pray for that person seeks help before he or she exculates to killing humans.

Whenever they find out who it is, the community should make their lives so miserable they have to move.

If anyone ever shot my dog, they better hope the police gets them before I do.

May God have mercy on their souls, because I wouldn't.

Who ever did it is a very sick person. I don't know what I would do if this was my dog. I would love to see the person get caught caught and brought to justice.

Unless someone in that town raises deer and one of them was being chased by the dog, it wouldn't be justified.

Livestock is defined as: the horses, cattle, sheep, and other useful animals kept or raised on a farm or ranch.

A wild deer roaming free is not considered livestock.

The only thing I even see in there about a dog chasing a deer is as follows:

§20-2-16. Dogs chasing deer.
No person may permit his or her dog to hunt or chase deer. A natural resources police officer shall take into possession any dog known to have hunted or chased deer and the director shall advertise that the dog is in his or her possession, giving a description of the dog and stating the circumstances under which it was taken. The notice shall be published as a Class I legal advertisement in compliance with the provisions of article three, chapter fifty-nine of this code, and the publication area for the publication is the county. He or she shall hold the dog for a period of ten days after the date of the publication. If, within ten days, the owner does not claim the dog, the director shall destroy it. In this event the cost of keeping and advertising shall be paid by the director. If, within ten days, the owner claims the dog, he or she may repossess it on the payment of costs of advertising and the cost of keep, not exceeding 50¢ per day. A natural resources police officer, or any officer or employee of the director authorized to enforce the provisions of this section, after a bona fide but unsuccessful effort to capture dogs detected chasing or pursuing deer, may kill the dogs.

So that by NO MEANS allows any person to kill a dog.

It would have to be someone employed by the DNR.

The link is right there if you can find something different.

They would not have shot the dog and left him suffering. If they did, they violated state law.

And this happened in Holden W.V.

That is nowhere near Charleston.

They could not just shoot a dog and leave it suffering.

First they have to make a "bona fide but unsuccessful effort to capture..."

Then if they did kill someone's dog they would have to dispose of the body in a proper manner and try to inform the owner of the dog of what happened.

Now before you say the dog could have ran after it was shot, no. It was in no shape to run according to what the vet said in the news story.

This wasn't anyone with the DNR.

your own fault

most times it is the owner's fault. keep the dog at home and it will not get killed. actually more should be killed than are. i love animals but when your dogs eat off my porch, poop in my yard, chase my animals then i will kill them. not the gogs fault but the owners. they always say my dog does not bother anyone/anything but let me tell you onced they leave your yard you have no idea what they di especially when they get with other dogs.
