1 1. Why do you doubt it? 2. What conspiracy regarding the "left wing media?" 3. Just curious...I write about wine and you want to talk about politics. Why? Where's the connection? |

1 I forgot to mention that if you think charcoal is a stretch, then what about the fish parts? Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm no religious fanatic. Just someone sharing some information that a lot of people aren't aware of. |

Good grief. What a perfectly ridiculous article. Now wineries are involved in a conspiracy aimed at horrifying vegetarians. I am flabbergasted by the nonsense that fills some people's heads.

There is an answer for vegans. Grow your own grapes, let them rot, pour the juice into bottles, drink it.

1 A national deficit that threatens to strangle our economy for a generation, for God's sake - it was 175 BILLION dollars last MONTH alone ! Wars in Afghanistan & Iraq where Americans are dying. Global warming that the Chicken Littles tell us will destroy the world in (pick one) 10, 20 or 50 years. A run amok medicare program that will be bankrupt in 10 years. A Social Security program that will be bankrupt in less than 20 years. A resurgent China that is starting to poke its nose in areas around the world. A Russia which seems to be getting ready to invade Georgia again. Iran is on the verge of getting nuclear weapons. Starvation & disease in the continent of Africa increases no matter how many hundreds of billions of dollars the world spends there. And yet some vegetarian looney birds (not Dave) are worried about vegetarian WINE ? I don't know whether to laugh or cry. For surely our society has truely become decadent & week. Our country is DOOMED ! |

I guess there may be a huge market for the Wine that has been filtered through my Liver and Kidneys. I can see it in big Neon letters...
NO WINE SO FINE AS MINE... Kinda catchy isn't it! |

I quote "The charcoal used to remove impurities and odors from wine is frequently made from animal bones."
Just lovely, more crap in our food and beverage chain. I'm hopeful all concerned address their "fining" processes. These folks should be ashamed, thank you for bringing this information to our attention. |

"You may be surprised to hear that animal blood could be in your wine. How? The charcoal used to remove impurities and odors from wine is frequently made from animal bones. Refined sugar, sometimes added to wine to enhance sweetness, is also filtered with charcoal."
Quote your source, please. |

Your location depends on your server. When lines are overloaded they switch to other lines to try and keep everything moving along.
I've been from Beckley, WV for a while and I live in Humboldt. |

ah, vegetarians and vegans, shouldn't drink any alcohol if they really care about animals, period. Millions of yeast (very small animals) are locked in the bottle or vat and forced to over-populate their environment and create alcohol, a waste product of the krebs cycle, to make wine.

1 If you have specific food preferences, is it their responsibility to reach out to you and tell you what is in their product, or your responsibility to ask? Many, many products are made with animal parts. Very few of them advertise it. The reason for this is that the majority of people are not concerned with this issue. For people who eat meat/animal product (and that's most of us), whether or not the charcoal that filtered their wine has animal content is just not significant. If you have a dietary preference or allergy, do some research before you buy. Find out who does and does not make food with the additives/processes that you do not want. If the manufacturer doesn't know, or won't answer, don't buy their product. It's your diet, it's your responsibility. |

You are not a good realist. It's not their responsibility it's the governments. Lately there are more and more people who want the gov to take all responsibility for everything for them. Free health care, free higher education, free this, free that. Oh and of course expand welfare. Oh well. |
