yeah why don't you tell the truth here! chalen winters is the one who called the paramedics! HE RAN BECAUSE HE WAS SCARED!! Micheal was still alive when everyone ran off. chalen did not know he had died. and the people who stayed with micheal are the ones who have the heart of chalen. chalen was very scared. why in the hell did micheals friends run off and leave him there. it was the group of kids at chalens house that stayed to tend to micheal one being chalens little sister. I feel bad for micheal lindon but why did he have to want a re-match?????? micheal lindon went to chalens house!! chalen is a very loved boy who has a heart of gold and would not hurt anyone. he is a giver. he would give you the shirt off his back!! this was pure and simple self defence. I know chalen very well and he does not even like to hurt spiders!!!! He cried when his lizard died!! this was an accident and these guys are much stronger and much bigger than chalen. he felt threatned and his little sister was there. this was pure self defence!!! and don't forget to add...micheal lindon went to chalens house! WITH WEOPONS!!!!! all this reporting makes chalen out to look like a murderer. he is NOT!! he was defending himself!!!!!!!! remember micheal is a football player and a wrestler much stronger and bigger than chalen! I feel bad for micheal but HE went to CHALENS HOUSE TO FIGHT!!! AND CHALENS LITTLE SISTER WAS THERE!!!!!!! Micheal should have never WENT TO CHALENS HOUSE WANTING TO FIGHT!!!! chalen was AFRAID FOR HIS LIFE!!! and his friends especially his sister. this is very sad for all involved. I am writing this because I am sick of these reports making micheal out to be the good guy.(because he died) and they are making chalen out to be the bad guy. chalen is an awesome person anyone who knows chalen knows this.chalen will have to live with this the rest of his life now. he is very very sad. he was protecting himself and family.

Many knew Mike as well as his family. Mike was a great kid, who possessed a heart of gold as well. Sure he was a football player, sure he was a wrestler, like many All American boys he was involved in sport. But that doesn't make him a fighter. As for having a weapon: What weapon? His finger prints have not been tied to any weapons. Mike might have had his cell phone but no weapons and no id. Probably he simply forgot it, or left it in the other pair of pants like so many of us have done before. Police could not properly ID him and that why his family was not called till the next morning. A family friend identified him in the hospital but was not allowed by police to contact the family till they had make contact first. One of Mikes friends who was there jumped a 2' wall but fell 10' off the other side breaking both ankles and ended in the hospital. That's why he couldn't get back to Mike. The other one there protected Mike's body with his own. I was not there, and it doesn't sound like you were either. I don't know Chalen like you do, and you do not know Mike like I did. But sadly we live in a world that jumps to conclusions and the Media leads the way. Let the law and God judge and rule, that is enough. If Chalen is truly innocent, and did not cause any bodily harm, and he has a clean past then you have nothing to worry. Truth always has a way of coming into the light. Our prayers and thought are with each and every family involved from Mike's to Chalen's.

Everyone knows that Chalen picked fights in highschool. There is no way you can say that hitting someone over the head with a crowbar is self-defense.

This out rages me..........one of these victims was a family member of mine. I know the story of what happend first hand..Mike was murdered...premetataded....the y called the victims asking him to meet them....they are the ones with the weapons....the victims had NO weapons. Hopefully all those involved in this attack will suffer......if not by the judical system but bu the men in prison! An eye for an eye!

All the people involved in this incident are in shock...why point fingers at eachother and start more chaos. This was all started as a hate crime over the music that was played at the park that night. why couldnt it just be ignored???????? why couldnt those kids leave the park if they didnt like the music that wasbeind listened to? chalen winters is one of the biggest hearted person i have ever met. he cares about everyone and everything... he always made sure his friends and family were safe and even when he doesnt know someone he would do his best to make sure they were ok too...chalen loves everyone...and would do anything to be the best person he could be. he rescues animals he see's lost or hurt and always finds ways to help people in need...no one should judge someone else if they dont know the other person. mike might have been a great guy...but why couldnt he leave chalen and his family alone???? He had to go onto chalens property and make them fear for their lives. its not right....chalen is so loving and has the best heart out of anyone i know. every one that meets chalen automatically see what a great guy he is and how loving he is.

if you guys do not know the real story or were not there that night, why point fingers????? chalen winters is NOT a murderer!!!!! i am a close friend of his and will continue to stay by his side. our group of friends are closer than family we always have been and always will be. as for all of the people that were there that night and all of mikes friends..... i knew him too. and it is a pity that this happened. none of us are cold hearted everyone has been affected. you do not know chalen at all if you think that he is even a bad person. that night is going to haunt all of our lifes forever, and hopefully the lesson will be learned that VIOLENCE is NOT the answer. so stop with the threats, none of us are fighting back. you guys bullied and singled us out all through school and are still doing so. when does it end? people need to really grow up. harassing threatening or hurting somebody because of the way they look is discrimination and a hate crime. grow up guys and if you DONT know the whole truthful story STOP spreading rumours!

as i see it... this whole story has played out into the whole " JOCKS VS. PUNKS " who the media and news have turned into the bad guys?.. is MORE than obvious but not truthful AT ALL. if YOU werent there. there is NO room to talk.. police have even warned us of a RETALIATION soon to come... but if fighting, and violence has gotten us where its at today.... then why go further? we're ALL hurt by that night.. and it WILL haunt us for the rest of our entire lives, nothing will ever be the same. for both opposing sides! we both have lost somebody very close to us, in different ways... OUR FAMILY OF FRIENDS IS STRONGER THEN EVER. AND WILL CONTINUE TO STAY BY CHALENS SIDE THROUGH THICK AND THIN! WE LOVE AND MISS YOU

i really dont know what happened that night. but all i know is that if you werent there personally then you have no right to talk. you dont know what was going through anyone elses head that night and you didnt see what happened. whatever happened happened, but people still hold it against all of us saying fuck you punx or whatever. in the heat of the moment this could have happened to any of us. even though this might come from someone you wouldnt expect because you asshole punk kids left me to get arrested the night before for a drunk in public i still love everyone of you guys and always will. why doesnt everyone quit with the hate and start loving again. hate only spawns more hate until someone steps aside and goes against the grain

It's an old story played out in small towns arcoss the country. Jocks vs. Punks. There was a fairly publicized case a few years back in Amarillo, TX. Some jock killed a punk. Ran him over with his tank sized cadillac. He was only smacked on the wrist by the justice system. Probably because he was a "great kid" with a "heart of gold". This time the roles are reversed. If those jocks did, in fact, show up at Chalen's residence, his home, looking for shit, Chalen did what a lot of people would have done. But no doubt the system will only see a Born To Lose tattoo across Chalen's forehead and throw him away.

Everything that happened that night was an accident, I wasn’t there so I have no right on voicing this, but few of any of you were actually there, the punks were tormented, ridiculed, and just flat out being bullied. The punks had the jocks calling them fags throwing trash and cigarette butts at them. The jocks bringing three full cars of people at the park saying they were going to jump the punks when there were only three girls and two boys. If mike hadn’t of dragged this fight on and gone to chalens house, this would of never happened, chalen wouldn’t hurt anyone for the fun of it, and his sister was there, of course he was going to stand up to mike, if he hadn’t things would of flipped and one of the punks would of most likely be dead. Mike would of most likely just gotten a slap on the wrist, because he was a star football player, and most or some of the punks have police records. The government is unfair, they say they do things in fairness without judging and what not but that’s bullshit. Chalen is most likely going to get punished way more than mike would have, and that’s injustice. People are getting threatened just for being friends with people. Kids parents are even getting threatened, that’s stupid. People should NOT be critized for the way they dress, or the music they listen to, or what they do for fun. Some of us play football for fun; some play guitar or drums, and go to concerts for fun. Every ones interests are different and the punks are being harassed for being who they are, and it’s not right. I have heard both sides of the story, so I'm not making my opinion base off of one story, but I want to get my opinion out in the open. Mike Lundin was not innocent, if he left the punks alone, none of this would of happened, just because he was the one murdered doesn’t mean he’s innocent, and you all need to get your incredibly thick skulls around that idea. If you’re going to make a statement about the murder and you were not there at least hear both sides of the story before you judge.

Okay, everyone stop for a second. If it was any sides fault, its BOTH! Not just the jocks fault, and not just the punks either way I don't see why you have to judge a group like that. It was both sides fault. You cannot just blame Chalen and you cannot just blame Mike. Yes Mike did go over to Chalens house, but Chalen fought back to protect everyone there, his family. Things were not supposed to go the way it did, and Chalen did NOT mean to kill him at all whatsoever. I did not know Mike as well as some of you do, or Chalen as much as others. But I do know they both had their moments in life, where they were the best person ever to someone.

As I read these posts I have to wonder where are priorities are...being true to a friend is a very good thing...but come on people, this is not a case of a group of people getting into a fist fight. This is about someone killing another person with a crow bar! Each person involved in this situation had a choice, and each one made a choice... I am so tired of hearing stories of how one group was teased so they are justified in killing some else. Just another Kip Kinkle. Get a grip people! There was NO reason for this to happen.

I am a parent of a teenage boy in Big Bear. It makes me feel ill that the parents of these kids have to live with this, on both sides. Kids don't understand the consequences to their actions, they act first. I hope that all freinds and family and anyone that can relate to this story, teaches peace and acceptance of others. Don't be so judgemental. Live your life and let others live theirs. It is so sad to me that most of the kids involved in this have probably known each other most of their lives.
