As a former San Bernardino City Library board member, and a longtime advocate of public libraries, I have been interested in newspaper stories about new libraries in our county.

The county has offered to take over the San Bernardino City Library numerous times only to be rebuffed by the city. The county currently manages over 30 branches including the new Lewis Library and Technology Center in Fontana. SB City is being stubborn and their patrons are suffering.
