Your pal the hippy sign painter looks like his colurs are fading fast. You should ask him his secret. Maybe ya'll could bunk together in COVENANT WOODS, or NICHOLSON TERRACE.
I know who you refer to, haven't seen him for a while and hope he's doing okay.

Our Music wrote:
Our music scene locally does not thrive because the MCSD fat cat administrators give the music and band teachers crumbs and cast offs while they have leather bank president furnishings in their posh offices. Years ago Coliani music was packed with students eager to participate. Now its out of business. No one wants to play a PLASTIC FLUTAPHONE and wooden RHTHYM STICKS. The orchestra violins are taped together. Because FAT CAT ADMINISTRATORS ARE LIVING LARGE! No wonder Columbus has no music scene. We aren't training up even a skiffle band.
The City of Columbus is paying street singers to busk on the corners of Broadway, though, which is a step... and some relatively good pay for a few hours work, plus tips.

Brian Mallard, Travis McCay and other local singers have been involved in this for the last year or so.

I've kind of dropped out of politics since the events of last November, but am interested in hearing all sides of the Columbus Georgia Story.

So... you've never even heard of Gram Parsons?

Well, you can get a lot of the great music of the local singers and songwriters right here online, such as:

A true Columbus treasure
Here's another treasure of the Columbus-Phenix City music scene, Rick "Uncle Grumpy" Edwards.

My old friend Rick Edwards wrote a song about "Dangerous Dan" (different Dan, but the type of character is the same), from back in the early 1980s and there-abouts.

Seems like it was quite a time to come up in.

http://www.rickedwards.info/...

"The year was 1980, we, Gwen, Julie,Lorre and I, were living on 22nd St., across from the old Summerville Elementary School. I was attending CVCC on a music scholarship, juggling a wife, two wonderful daughters, an education, my life and a raging desire to eventually become a bona fide folkhero. Danny came by my house one day and for the nine hundredth time demanded that I write a song about him. I was in the middle of writing a song about me and Henry Parker, so far untitled and basically a work in progress; the song, "Dangerous Dan" came from that work and is essentially about me Henry Parker and Danny Peoples and of course, named for Dan. I couldn't even begin to describe the feelings I have for that man, ranging from love to hate and rage to endearment but in the end he was one of my fondest friends and the memories will endure..." -Rick Edwards

Then you should wrote:
Then you should quit the music scene and leave it to young people. Please quit the music scene and never post again. Everyone shall applaud. It would be the greatest thing you ever did your entire music career. Quit and walk away never to speak of anything again. Like John Lennon did when he left to bake casseroles. Please stop commenting. Please stop writing. Hold a going out of music party and then just never utter another word again. Raise earth worms or pigeons or minnows. Or Try fly fishing. Become a recluse. Run off somewhere with a Truck Stop Midget Woman. Do anything but please quit music and writing and anything public.
Thanks for the idea, maybe next year!

This poll just goes on and on. You cannot deny that the voters think the Columbus Music scene is illegitimate by an overwhelming majority.

The vote does go on and on, and the Yes votes are still coming in.

In my perspective, almost 2000 voters in favor of the Columbus-Phenix City music scene is a significant number.

Now, if we can just get all of them to fork over ten bucks each at Doo-Nanny and Hogbottom... heh...

Because Dr. Jain locally has plastic surgery available for severe cases of Cleft palate and other congenital deformorities. If not maybe he could evaluate you for a referral to a specialist that could help you.
