Does anyone else remember it. Standish Hansell had it dug and put the concrete dinosaurs on the island. There was a concrete snake wrapped around a tree too.

I, unfortunately, have never been there. But, I have come across information on it at: http://www.amusementparknostalgia.com/index.h...
If you click on "Forgotten Places" and then scroll down, there is some information on it. I found this site a few years ago.

I remember it, you could walk around the whole lake from the path. The one side did have a dock, well what was left of it anyway. and There was a creater cut out just to the left of that dock.

I remember this lake well. It was behind Liberty Bell Racetrack, now the Franklin Mills Mall. It was rumored that the reason the lake was drained, is that someone found a woman's head at the bottom of the lake. They never identified the head, and many stories swirled around the possibility of there being a link to the horrors of Byberry State Mental Hospital. Of course these were childhood stories, but I believe the head in the lake was fact. I lived in Doral Apts at the time, this was back in the early 70's...

I remember that story well....growing up in Parkwood we visited there quite a few times...I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers this place...or the rumours about it :)

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Libra

Get out and about whenever possible today. You're feeling energized and will want to keep active at every opportunity. Leave the car at home if you can and walk to your destination instead, or have a brisk walk in your lunch-hour. It will be even better if you can take a brief holiday from your usual routine and find some different surroundings for a change.
