I thought it was moved because the Brookville sewer system was failing or needed replaced.

As a former resident for many years of Brookville, the move was due to a sewer issue not the constant interruption of "out-of-towners". Vistors were welcomed with open arms. The ambience of the city of Brookville and atmosphere gave you that experience of stepping back in time and the remembrance of those great Sunday dinners with family and friends.

The reason <cluck> that it was moved, <cluck> was so that the chickens could find it........<cluck>

Friends have visited the restaurant and they weren't impressed. They reported greasy chicken and salty gravy. They called it a recipe for cardiac arrest. High salt with high fat equals heart attacks.

Do they plan on eating it for every meal? And it is fried chicken.

The Brookville Hotel really isn't very good anymore-- old-timers have said as much. Just a gimmick.

Taste buds aren't as good when you're old. The same people are running the restaurant with the same recipes.........just a new building and location.....

Tastes the same to me. Lots of people grumble that they are using smaller plates but what difference does that make. You can still eat as much as you want, duh......

My husband and I stopped there a couple years ago and had one of the best meals on our 30 day trip from California to Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and back. In fact, we saw cornfields while traveling through farm state after farm state and the Brookville was the only place we could find corn on the menu!(What's with that?!). I also visited the one years ago when it was still just outside of Salina and it was wonderful there, too!

Its pretty good but the carry out is a lot cheaper. Be careful because you have to pay extra for paper products and relishes.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Scorpio

Self-worship is easy and obvious, today. The real prize is when you turn from the mirror to see that others think just as highly of you. Take in all this love and amazement, and store some away for lean times in the future. Someone may give you an unexpected compliment later in the day, but don't let them know that it caught you off guard. After all, you still have your reputation as an egomaniac to uphold!
