Has anyone here ever used Pat the Plumber? My widowed mother lives in Beverly Hills, FL and recently used them to repair a leaky toilet. The plumber presented her with different options and she chose to have the toilet rebuilt. Total bill....$341. I think that's outrageous!!! It only took the plumber about one hour to do the task, but they will be quick to point out that they don't work by the hour. I feel this is definitely a practice of taking advantage of a person in a vulnerable situation. Here, in Atlanta, I contacted Sundial Plumbing, and they told me they would charge $149.60 for the same job. That's more in line with what I would expect. Of course, if I were closer, I could have done it for less than $20 for everything from Home Depot, but that just wasn't an option. I have contacted the company and I am amazed at their arrogance and their lame attempts to defend their pricing. Has anyone else had dealings with Pat the Plumber? Thank you, Concerned Son in Atlanta

Yes, I had the same problem. I had a slab leak. I realize that this can be an expensive repair, but thay made me pay $380.00 on the spot JUST TO FIND THE LEAK, and the estimate for fixing the leak was over $1,000. (to re-route the plumbing, not replace it under the slab) Luckily we found an experienced handy man to do this job for $400.00. I think Pats prices are ridiculously high, you are paying for their fancy trucks, and big name. I will NEVER use them.

I am in the Clermont, FL area and originally paid $226 for a tank rebuild. They claim that it was under warranty being less than a year old. They returned and submitted a bill for another $226. AVOID THIS OPERATION. They work under flat rate pricing that is outrages. I will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau on their unethical practices

Pat the Plumber sucks, do not use them. I get complaints about them all the time in the field from customers and also form past employees about how sorry their operation is. They are dishonest and overpriced. Also avoid B and H Plumbing, they are not as expensive but are just as incompetent.

I called Pat the Plumber, The BIGGEST mistake in my life! My faucet was dripping in my bathtub. I unscrewed the spindel and took it to several places to replace it. I was told I needed to update to a newer faucet set. Pat the plumber came out, and only charged me $280.00 to screw my old spindel back in!!!!! MY PART!! No new parts! I thought the best way to handle it was call the owner the next day. Jon would not let me speak to the owner. That so-called repair cost me 1/3 of my total monthly income! I even asked about the senior discount. I was told they didn't ask if I wanted it because it might offend me! Get Real!! What a RIP OFF Co. BE VERY AWARE!!!

I wanted them to come out and check two leaky sinks in my house I just bought an the wanted to charge me like a lawyer. They wanted a retainer $380.00 and if I used them I would have $200.00 to go to the repairs.$180.00 to just look? And if I did not want their service it would be the whole $380.00. I waited three weeks for a good friend to come down to see the house he is a plumber, and he found the problems and repaired them. I called the company back and told them I had an estimate from another company and told them the problem. Over the phone they quoted almost $700.00 because there was a chain reaction of problems that they would need to solve for my leaks. What a rip!

It's nice to know that we don't have to call all the way into Ocala to get screwed.

Had a great experience with Pat the Plumber! I used them to install a solar water heater and they delivered fantastic service! They were not the cheapest company out there but delivered A+ service from the person on the phone to the salesman to the installers. I would highly recommend Pat the Plumber if you want a professional company. If you're just looking for a fly by night cheapo company don't call them. BTW, checked on their BBB rating and they are rated A.
