Anlin triple paned argon gas windows are pretty quiet. I live by the airport and needed a little bit more sleep since I started working graveyard again. They price was a litkke marked up( a little pricey) but I figured I could always sue if I didnt like it since my job offers free prepaid legal. The windows were cool and the quality was good but the price could hamve been cheaper but the again I figured American Vision Windows gas to pay for there constant radio ads.

I have gotten quotes from four vinyl replacement window companies/contractors. Two of them are saying that plastic wheels/rollers are better and the other two are saying to get brass wheels/rollers. Which is better, plastic or brass?
Brass rollers are a vinyl window's worst enemy. Over time the brass digs into the vinyl track and the window becomes very difficult to operate.

Triple pane is for energy efficiency, not sound control. You should always get STC ratings and compare them side by side for sound control.

Now a days most window and door companies sell vinyl windows rather than wooden windows of old. Aluminium windows are also in the market, but itís expensive price helps vinyl windows. Compared to wooden windows vinyl replacement windows ( http://www.windowchoice.ca/window-tips/why-do... ) are cheap, durable, low maintenance cost and energy efficient, which means it saves your hard earned money. A lot of people consider vinyl because of of itís low maintenance cost and durability. But one should consider weather factors of his location before deciding on which kind of frame to choose.

I got about 5 estimates before going with California Window Depot. We were looking for quality vinyl windows. Every one was pushing Milgard. But we have Milgard Tuscany in our other home and are not happy with them. When Uri came by he was very patient. He did carry Milgard, too. But sold us Amerimax. We are happy. Installation was great. Installers even moved some of our furniture. Clean job. Good luck.

I am in the process of choosing Vinyl Replacement Windows. I agree - it is a terrible process trying to sort out all the selling features. Which ones are important? Which ones are fluff? Which ones are honest and which ones are deceitful. This is 2015. Your latest comments go back to 2014. most comments 2009, 2010, 2011. Windows manufactured could change over the years. However, I have been presented with the Milgard Tuscany and the Simonton (Series Unknown). Seems both have survived the test of time. After reading Consumer Reports and Consumer Affairs I was under the impression a satisfactory vinyl replacement window was not made and throw all the installers/companies into the ocean. Your sight has restored my faith.

I would recommend asking your friends and neighbors. Putting in new windows could also help seal your home from air leaks. This will allow your home to cool faster and save on the energy bill. http://www.gilkey.com

I put my Milgard Tuscany with low3 glass/argon(3dmax) almost 8 years ago. The windows look great but the energy savings have not been disappointing. I did get the $1,500 tax credit and a $30 per window rebate from Milgard but the windows have not come close to paying for themselves like the salesman said. I have had to deal with Milgard a couple of times. They're customer service is ok. Took them over a month to make the correct sash(size) for one of my windows. I had to make them replace it when it whistled when there were winds. Milgard at first refused but after a few phone calls they finally replaced it. I can't believe they fought me over a $100 window.

I am trying to sell my house now and the windows help a little with value, but not what I paid for them.

I recommend putting off installing new windows unless the government gives another tax credit.

Tried to buy vinyl windows but had a hard time getting the truth. Prices varied greatly. Salesman were horrible. Now that I have measurements I am just emailing companies for different brands and prices. Anyone else having trouble finding trustworthy window company?

Try to get a price on Simonton. Very good quality, smooth operation, dealer handled installation and beat Window World pricing that tried to insist on $11.00 color added for WHITE!! Window World $189.00 pricing was like trying to get a deal on a decent casket! Pressure, pressure, pressure!!

I still do not really know the crux of Review for Malibu Anlin from American Vision. Customer service and warranty limitations are prime concern. The cost is much less than Anderson but they also have what APPEARS to be a superior installation for a rain leak issue never addressed by Fleetwood or current option Analin Malibu. Anderson install with new wood and flashing and superior care of interior and exterior property must be some of the hight cost of Anderson....I must eliminate the insanity of dealing with Fleetwood leaking and of course at 90yo cost is a prime factor also. Any insight much appreciated!
