with money to spend like this, it shouldn't be too difficult for the govt to ask for the money back, right?

If you take one penny of bailout money you have no right to host/sponsor a PGA or any other big dollar event ! Don't spin and say none of the money came from the bailout money ! Tha's absurb ! Maybe don't throw the parties, cancel the contract with the PGA , then maybe you only need 1 billion or less of a bailout ! Maybe the Goverment should take the money back !

How many people were employed by throwing this lavish party...did anyone stop to think that the bank buying out a hotel for a few night might have saved jobs!

The banks do not care. They are thieves and they are stealing the money right from American Tax Payers. They think nNothing can be done because no one put any restrictions on the money given to them and they just laugh and do business as usual because they think that the people of this country will continue to throw money to them whenever they cry wolf. Enough is enough and its time that we demand accountablity when it comes to money given out of our pockets to these crooks and thieves. It is time to demand that the people who were voted into office take action and demand repayment from these banks who choose to not loan but also choose to spend our money in reckles ways. Dont act mr/mrs voted into office you will lose your also extravagant lifestyle next election. It is time for us to take this country back.

Northern Trust is one of the best capitalized banks in the country. They didn't need the governments' money and only took it after being asked multiple times by the government to accept it.

You have no idea what it would take and how much it would cost to back out of the deal with the PGA. You are most likely correct that they should have toned down the entertaining. But think about all those jobs they created in southern california by spending their money there.

Northern Trust should provide invoices that paid for this prior to them receiving the bailout money. Then maybe people might believe them and they wouldn't have to defend themselves.

Hey jgm, are you serious? They did not save any jobs. If saving jobs means stealing from the poor (taxpayers) and giving to the rich (banks), translates into a "good deed", we have lost our morals. Get real.
