Chris Dorner... I would have supported him up until the point he involved completely innocent people into it.

No matter what anyone admits, they all know how BAAAAAAAD this makes the LAPD look it is a total lose lose lose for them.

1-They caused it- NOBODY "invents" all that detail of corruption to cover up what the police would want you to think was "just a wacko". The supposedly "improved" systemic racism and CYA Blue Line corruption at LAPD is the largest contributor to driving the man over the edge. A.K.A.'Reap what you sow'. He was driven to the edge and decided to step over. That's on C. Dorner, but the systemic hate and arrogance from the Cult of Public Safety is getting stupid now.

2-The Torrence cops totally exacerbated their image problems by then shooting up innocent people and ramming one kid's car in their gung ho badass-ness.

3-They can't explain how he was hiding 4 days in a cabin across the street from their "command center", literally able to watch THEM.

4-There are now recordings in the wild on the internet that feature police at the scene screaming and taunting "Burn that fcker" on open mics, subsequently the cabin burned. So whether right or wrong, deserved or not, the supposed, and much self-ballyhoed "upholders of the law" have show the world on live TV once again that they are simple criminals and murderers themselves. If they were so "right" then why not control themselves and use the same effort to take him alive if possible? Clearly that wasn't the plan.

5- The LAPD received a call from the owner of the cabin who was watching on live TV and has told the media she told them at the outset that there was no cable, internet or telephone in the cabin, yet the LAPD demanded, with zero FAA or AT authority, for the coverage media aircraft to pull back. Perhaps to "hide" what they were planning, or any further blunders that might occur. Viola!

6- Their response to this can only be one of defending their obvious blunders and mistakes. Again. Add to this that "it's personal" to them so the predictable Cult of Public Safety will be adversarial, defensive and vindictive in their handling of this.

It's a shame innocent people have died, but let's not be as naive as the Cult of Public Pension Safety would have us be. Blaming "just" C. Dorner is faulty logic and excuse-making for self-preservation to the police.

Like all mass killings, these escalations of social moral rot embolden and often guide the nature of the next mass killing. This will happen again until the systemic "blue line" lie is corrected. A gang that protects their won from accusation of wrongdoing all the way to murder, as you have seen here.

You people really need to set it off and reign that pack of lifelong homocopsuals in. They are BREAKING your city and claifornis. The Cult of Pubic Safety" just don't get it!

Grow up People. Do to our astonishing political ignorance, we elected "leaders" who made Los Angeles the epicenter for Gangs, Illegals, Crack, and Meth Heads in the entire Country.

We are darned lucky that we can still go outside our homes without being robbed, raped, or murdered.

Do whatever it takes to keep our families safe LAPD. Without you we would be forced to surround our homes with Razor Wire and Electric Fences like South Africans or Zimbabwians.

Bravo on a job very well done!!!

At least you didn't pretend that I hadn't spoken the Truth about Los Angeles. The vital role the LAPD play in keeping the City from plunging into a morass of senseless violence is not even up for debate. The LAPD doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful.

Of course, the vast majority of LA citizens are proud of the LAPD and appreciate that they risk their lives to keep us safe. Duh!

A- They hardly "risk their lives" because if you look at the United States Department of Labor statistics, policework isn't even in the top ten most dangerous jobs, and only ONE ever appeared there at #10 last year. So save us all that silly "Cops Dodge Movie Explosiions Every Second Of The Day To Protect You" blatass. It's not true.

Truckers, COnstruction workers, salesmen and even LIFEGUARDS are further up the list. That's right: Women IN BIKINIS sitting on beaches dies more often per capita on their jobs than cops.

Where we going next? The Semantic Turnpike?

B- Is the LARD wonderful? Of course, you have stellar cops in there, but they are the vast minority now. We need police not thugs who historically can't contain their own dirt and problems. Nobody WANTS to bash your boys but they ask for it. We DO love them when they are at the top of their game but hey, if they thought this was some kinda popularity contest like this debate seems to indicate to you, they're all in the wrong line of work wouldn't you say?

It is time America confronts the uncomfortable truths about our police today, indeed since 911. The Cult of Public Safety demands respect but renders none to anyone but themselves foremost.

Anyone who hits them head on with the truth is accused of petty desires or a gripe, it's gone on forever but the people are wise to the lies and claims of self-sacrifice now wouldn't you say? Where there's smoke there's fire, and at this point the fire's shooting horizontally out of every window in the LARD. They can only blame themselves for that for not continually screening and suppressing the ignorant hateful emotionally immature tuffguy wanabe SWAT costume ones.

The results here simply don't lie no matter how much you cheerlead, shoot the messenger, or distract.

So now let's review....

So should they start calling them LARD for Los Angeles Racist Department yet? I think it's long past due and lard is pigfat.

Sort of like these hero wanabes who try to distract.

If a guy walks in on his wife screwing another man and kills them, how come the police NEVER say- "well, you can't believe what he's saying, he's a MURDERER!!", yet that's exactly how they are trying to dismiss this Dorner wacko's rampage?

Hellooooooo people!!! The Cult of Pubic Safety and Pensionpadder Unions are waaaaay wrong here stop being "PC" because that's a chickenshyt copout because you are afraid they will attack you for pointing out that the Queens wear no clothes but their Swat costumes.

I disagree, but respect the volume of your point. Just as politics is local, bad poLICE are local. It's where the rubber hits the road. This is not to disparage the last few honest [and probably exasperated] LAPD police we love and look up to.

I agree Obama may or may not have an effect on all of our lives, I think he's a terrible president but WANTS to do the right thing if that makes any sense. I like both some repubs and libs too but he seems to have a couple wacky libs in his ear but back to the point- it has an effect yes but some cop kicking the shyt out of your kid because the "bag he's in" is black, red, purple, or not white has a pretty big effect on your day beyond Mr. Obama's activities no?

You absolutely nailed it..but LA is by no means the only locale with a cops out of control problem..Take a looka t this from Philly:(It's from Copblock dot org)
Anthony Abrams, a psychologist researching drug addiction, was looking for a client on the streets of Kensington when Philadelphia Police Officer Eric Burke pulled up. It was the afternoon of March 8, 2010.
“He said,‘What are you doing here?’ I said,‘I’m a psychologist. I’m trying to find a client of mine.’ He immediately slammed me to the ground, put his boot against my head and said,‘You tell me what you’re doing here or I’m going to kick your fucking head in,’” Abrams testified in June 2011, before a rare hearing of the city’s beleaguered Police Advisory Commission. Burke then put his foot on top of the doctor.“And then,” Abrams continued,“he began stomping my head with his boot.” Witnesses corroborated Abram’s story at the hearing; one said the officer called the white doctor a “disgrace to our race.”
If we reach a critical mass of people who are fed up with corrupt sociopathic brutal cops ...it will amount to a kind of low intensity ongoing civil war....

It is going to keep coming to a head. And worse each time: I'd say that this LARD Eruption has cost LARD almost as much trust and respect as Rodney King. Good work and spread all this "Cult of Public Safety" info around please.
