I realize tension is very much heightened in LA, but the officers need to stop opening fire on vehicles that ' resemble ' the suspect's vehicle...I mean, good Lord, they should have better sense than to adhere to the ' shoot first ask questions later ' method of crime control. Some of the dumbasses damn near killed two women delivering newspapers.

Looking at the pictures of their truck it just wasn't a few shots either. The picture show the back of the pick up shot up. Repeat how do you confuse TWO WOMEN for ONE 270 Pound man???

I thought shoot first and ask questions later was just in the movies and tv. This gives some credibility to the guys manifesto. Like to see how they try to cover this up.

They probably try to charge the fugative with felony assault for the damage done during the pursuit of him.

I don't think it's training as much as mindset. But police all over have to remember they are supposed to be the paid professional and disciplined. Most cops are neither.

That means they shouldn't be acting on impulse. They should be able to control their emotions and let their training and mission take over-to serve and protect. Too many cops look at their job as a war with the public. They don't look at as protecting the public. Yet it is the public tax payer money the gives them a job.

They won't wake up because in their minds there is nothing to wake up from. It's business as usual. That's how they were 'unofficially' trained, that's what they observe on the job daily and that's what they wind up doing. It takes a goody two shoes or outsider to even recognize and point out what they are doing wrong. It's part of the police culture in LA and other big departments.
