Proposed Bible study rules for public schools

The bill calls for the Kentucky Board of Education to establish guidelines for an elective course on the Bible's literary structure and its influence on "literature, art, music, mores, oratory, and public policy." First Amendment watchdogs said school districts need to be vigilant that instructors in such classes teach but not preach. Courier - Journal - Louisville, Ky.

Influences are every where and I prefer to aim toward the good ones for my children. I oppose personal attacks on individual religious preferences but I will not elevate the practices of mans traditions above Gods love for us.

Just as Jesus discussed the bibles truths as a young boy along with the learned people of that time and I feel our Children would be prepared for whatever this world throws at them too if they read the bible and felt free, as he did, to discuss Gods love wherever they go.

I would think every one of us knowing of God in our heart (as with the new covenant) could freely speak of him now too no matter where we are and seek Gods to please him as Jesus Christ did.

We have all sinned and need to accept Christ's forgiveness and grace but it is because of this worlds meaningless distractions that neither produce fruit of the Spirit nor provides a way in Christ to be rich toward God that people stray so far away from the love of God that they are blind, dumb and deaf, by choice in creating false fears hiding their sin. When coming to Christ casts down fear even the fear of death.

It would've been good to give children the keys to true knowledge found in Gods word a long time ago instead of jumping all over prayer in school,(I believe prayer is more individually shared between me and God but I do ask Jesus as my high priest and the Holy Spirit to help me).

Having the bible available to all in school where everyone could freely discuss the truths of life with each other and make well informed decisions on the paths they take in their own lives.

I believe you should give to Caesar what is Caesars and to God what is Gods whereas Caesar requires certain practices be met under guidelines but not to bow down to an idol to do it or agree to false teachings so Christian fellowship wherever it is at would be unto God.

Encouraging open discussion about the goodness of Gods love is better than living our children's lives for them only to have them rebel away once someone shows them only half truths or gives them false faith in worldly gain and pride.
