As a city employee and resident, I can not believe the amount of money and effort we spend around Lee and Andy Malcom's projects. I can only wonder if Lee has some kind of inside information on city business. I have spoken to several other city employees that have questions but feel it would be best to remain silent on the situation. Where does this end? How can she(Lee Malcom) make sound decisions as a city council member when she has so much at stake?

Don't let history repeat itself. She got Jon Krieger and she will get you if you mess with her. Keep your mouth shut and you might survive until she decides to take another break from politics. She reminds me of Hillary!!!

I spoke to my city council representative this morning at church and she says she doesn't like the appearance it gives the public. I agree with her that public perception is everything when it comes to politicians. She would not tell me but I got the impression that several city council members along with city employees would like to see her in the real estate business full time.

I'm not clear on the issue. Are we talking about some illegal or unethical political moves by a city council member in Monroe. If so maybe I can help. I've been known for stating my mind to the Monroe City Council and the Walton Tribune in the past. If there's evidence of wrong doing we need to do something. I imagine the DA's office would love to get this one.

Over $400,000 spent in infrastructure improvements around the delapadated brick structures on Church Street. Taxpayers should feel good about the money they spent to enhance Mrs. Malcoms investments. No one should be shocked, isn't this why realtors are so close to politics.....it appears that being a city council woman can be very profitable if you play your cards right. Unclear on the issue, you asked if there is illegal or unethical political moves here. I'm not sure if anything was illegal, because everything was voted on by the city council but unethical...well you decide. As a retired realtor, I know how the system works, I worked it for years and if you have connections in local government you can continue to put food on the table even when the market is down. Let's just pray that she doesn't want to run for mayor. I plan on having breakfast with some others in the business at Pot Luck in the morning and I'll let you know about the other projects real soon.

Stop your whinning. Bite the bullet like the rest of us and hopefully the improvements the Malcoms make to our downtown area will enhance our property values and revitialize a dead zone in downtown Monroe. Ethics-ha-ha!

Looked up her website today and realized there's more. Look at her associates and you'll understand. We may have a bigger issue than we expected. I hope she doesn't have the connections to Walton County politics that seem to be right in front of us.

I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel. So you have a problem with real estate agents who have close connections with the political field in Monroe and Walton County. If you have hard evidence of corruption let me know and I will have my connections with the GBI take a look but if you don't have facts stop your whinning..please. I'm all about holding politicians accountable for their actions. Small towns, like Monroe, can be troubled for decades with financial burdens if we allow corruption to run rampant. I have spoken with a city council member and he assured me that nothing illegal has taken place and he will continue to watch all council members in their personal endeavors to make sure that shame is not brought upon the city of Monroe. I hear him but I will make sure he is held accountable for what he said to me. Thorsenous, let me know when you have the facts.

Did a little more looking around today. Google the Reynolds Real Estate Group and look at the smiling faces. From their smiles it looks like the tax payers just voted them into the "Million Dollar Club". Where does this end? D. Wells, look it up my friend and see for yourself.

Nothing illegal about it but this type stuff has gone on for years. Lots of millionaires have been made over having an inside tract to information pertaining to growth. Look at the Gwinnett County commissioner who bought up all the land around where 316 was being built. I wonder who owns land around the new reservoir being built in Walton County. I'm sure that when the reservoir was just in the discussion stage politicians and their family members involved in real estate rushed to buy as quickly as possible. Name me one politician that does not use his or her political connections to advance themselves personally...now thats a challenge.
As for me, I'll just sit down here in the curve in Hestertown and laugh at you ignorant people that think you can change crooked politicians.

Her personal life should not be spread all over this board and you should be ashamed of yourself. I bet huckleberry has no skeletons in his/her closet. Get a life and leave people alone. The Malcoms do not bother anybody and are outstanding citizens in this community. Lee and Andy if you catch wind of this ridiculous dialogue pay it no attention. I know you are good honest people and politically you always do the right thing.

Noticed the City of Monroe paving the street beside her office yesterday and it looks like the husbands latest venture might get paved today. Just thought you guys might want to know.

When I crossed the intersection of South Madison and Church Street I didn't see the city workers paving but I did see them cutting grass and weed eating under her Malcom and Malcom real estate sign. I dont know if she owns the property or if she is trying to sell it for someone else but thats not right.
