With a large Cacer Cluster pop in Copiague, I can see the Us Goverment buying alot of houses, or handing out more free cash to these residents. If Welfare checks and food stamps were not enough in Copiague.

I thought this Toxic plume would be bigger news. I am worried this plume made it way to my town Lindenhurst. Is this being kept quite? did it reach lindenhurst?

I live in Copiague and I resent that statement. Myself and my wife are both civil servants and work very hard to maintain our home. I am in the plume area and the EPA will be testing the air and ground vapors in my basement at the end of this month. I have never been on any type of welfare or public assistance.

I am sure if we look up the drugs and welfare in Jamaica you win!

Bro, Copiague is a trashy town but I still love it. Copiague is what it is 1/2 a ghetto but where else can you buy a house for $170K still?

I am just concerned about this Toxic plume, I think we are getting lost here. The News needs to come for a visit again bring this story back to life!

There used to be a plant in Hicksville that manufactured rods for nuclear reactors. Everyone working in the plant died of kidney cancer, except one. That one engineer [who later became very wealthy] also contracted renal cell carcinoma but spent a small fortune on alt cancer therapy and is alive today with no obvious disease, 12 years after his stage 4 diagnosis. Fumes from the plant entered the atmosphere of Hicksville, rendering the cancer rates there at least 20%higher than surrounding areas...its nuclear waste so its a permanent toxin, now mostly in the soil and water.
