Bicyclist critical after being hit by train in Bethpage

A bicyclist was in critical condition yesterday after he ducked around the gates at a crossing in Bethpage and was struck by a train, officials said.

Ok lets get it right..if the gates weren't down then the train would have hit him. But seeing as the gates were down and he started to cross...he hit the train. He was in the train's way..it wasn't the otherway around. And I am sorry to say this but people are stupid and do stupid human tricks, this one just didn't work out the way the guy wanted. I do hope that he is ok, and he recovers from his TBI,(traumatic brain injury). What was he in a rush for? 3 min to let the train pass, 3 months in a hospital bed...I would let the train pass
sometimes your the train, sometimes your the idiot on the bike trying to get around the gates to beat the train to the other side.

Hello we all know, when the gates are down and the red lights are flashing , "THAT MEANS A TRAIN IS COMMING AND THE TRAIN HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY",not the dumbass on a bike trying to go around the gate, he got what he deserved!

Bethpage has gates, bells an additional signal bridge spanning Stewart Avenue AND AUDIBLE warnings. HOW STUPID CAN YOU POSSIBLE BE????
