I only live is this now curry smelling town because it is affordable and close to a train station with decent service. I can't believe how people trash the town they live in. The small diversity here does not bother me. I grew up in NYC so I look at everyone as equal. At least my kids won't grow up being prejudiced. Go ahead, live in super white places like Massapequa where the kids are shooting heroin. No thanks, not for me.

Listen Richard (I intentionally used Richard that way too; figure it out), I'm WHITER than you are and so are my neighbors. I don't know what part of Hicksville you live in, but it's obviously the wrong section. Move if you don't like it. I'm ending this now, since it now has absolutely nothing to do with the original story. I was merely defending the area. You can continue if you like.

There are very few opportunities for improvement. The Hicksville transportation hub has a golden opportunity to help itself. Mineola and Roosevelt Field Mall are two other transit hubs that overhauled themselves in recent years. Hicksville should follow suit as it is a very important LI town.

The problem is that when a small problem arises (a leak, crack, peeling paint) it is ignored until it is too late to fix, like going to the dentist. The people whose responsibility it is to inspect the structures do NOT do their job, hence we hae a 40 million dollar parking garage, and Suozzi spends 100 million.

Cant please everyone is right. I think TOB is doing a great job providing us with parking & shuttle buses. I doubt other townships would do this. Things get old & need replacement thats nature. TOB stuck together to get signs, traffic control, buses, & a parking lot. Way to go!!!

Oh Cathy. Poor Cathy. You are so misinformed and a bit hypocritical.
First, the TOB parking garage did not just "get old". It "got old" while the town failed to inspect it as they should have through the years. There is a BIG difference.
Second, you live in a town that does not want a mall in its' backyard. Yet, you criticize Hicksville for speaking up about a parking garage. We already have a mall, and a parking garage. You have neither. Which would you prefer in Landia? Oh my. You don't like those suggestions do you. I guess you are right. You can't please everyone.

"We don't need 2,000 cars coming to Hicksville every day," said Clark, 72." Once again commuters are the losers. I guess Mr Clark does not want us to earn income in NYC only to spend it in Hicksville. 2,000 cars means 2,000 jobs Mr Clark. If you can provide those jobs on Long Island I would gladly never return to Hicksville (now Little India) never ever again for as long as I live. Then go park in Syosset or Bethpage. As if you regularly come to Hix to spend your money. Don't make me laugh. Why do we have to carry you with no benefit to our town? Schmuck!

Watch It wrote: Hey, Tom Clark, what kind of an a-hole are you? If you don't want TOB to provide parking, then be very prepared to have cars on your front lawn since there will be no where else to park. How you made it as councilman this long is amazing. Quite frankly, I do NOT like commuting to and from Trashville either, but we have no choice. Idiot. Let them put a parking garage in another town. NO OTHER TOWN WOULD ALLOW IT. Hicksville has become a dumping ground for TOB. It's not fair to the residents. Why do you deserve quality of life and not them? Let some other town carry the burden of a parking garage. Hix has carried the burden long enough. If you lived in Hix, you'd feel the same way.

Sounds like a bunch of bigoted republicans to me, what does being Indian have to do with the rebuilding of the TOB parking lot. To raise that issue just acknowledges your bigotry and hate. Time to grow up. And no I am not Indian.

I live in Hicksville and have to commute everyday to work! it has been a great inconvenience to have to walk to my car in the sears parking lot or the mall parking lot, it's not only unsafe but has added about 30 minutes a day onto an already long commute! for those of us who have to work long and late hours in the city it’s also a safety issue to have to walk to our cars in dark, late at night!!!! so either put the garage back and stop all this whining or get police escorts to/from the very dark parking lot in back of sears and the mall!
