Did anyone maybe think that maybe the bear could have pulled through with some vet attention rather than just shooting it? There is so little info in this article it's just about useless.

Sometimes, what happens in the wild is that the animals suddenly realize the pitiful existence they are relegated to. They see other creatures have the big houses, the swing sets, the BMW SUV's - and they just can't take it anymore, and want to end it all. And that is why they commit suicide by throwing themselves into moving traffic. It's just sad...

Part of me agrees, but this is a wild animal that would be miserable/distressed in captivity while being rehabilitated. I feel the policeman did the humane thing for this poor bear.

You animal rights terrorists are so funny when these things happen. The bear was a wild dangerous animal who was in pain and injured, you can't take it to the Vet like some injured cat or dog.

The trooper did the DEP biologist recommended action, and put it down.

maybe getting help for the bear could have worked too. How about if the trooper runs head first into the side of a moving SUV, are we gonna shoot him for laying on the side of the road. Let's be realistic some of our troopers here in Ct aern't the brightest. Poor little bear, he deserved a chance at living.

Most of the people in this state do not know the difference between a stuffed teddy bear and a dangerous wild animal.

At least I'm sure the Troopers here in CT know how to spell, punctuate and abbreviate.
To all the illiterate idiots and angry bastards, your life would be more productive if you took a break from posting and went a long hike in the woods. Find out if a bear sh*ts there and then report back! You'll be brilliant when you can relate to a subject more suited to your intelligence.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Gemini

You're in a very erratic mood today, making you restless, edgy and nervy. It may be almost impossible to settle to anything for long, because, as Mercury slows, you soon lose interest. If life becomes boring you'll want to liven it up in some way and it's likely you'll choose the most disruptive and controversial option you can think of, even though you know this will cause trouble.
