Drugs are illegal and they were found with loads of them. You think it's alright for Phish hippies camping on school grounds where kids can see them?

I went to the Phish concert, but I didn't go there to get drunk, stoned or whatever since I don't do drugs and drink at all, I went to the Phish concert at SPAC, just for the music alone.

You can still have a fun time at SPAC when not getting messed up. Not all Phish fans are druggies.

These kids here in this article were at the wrong place, at the wrong time.

How did you listen to the music sober?

Like I said, not all Phish fans are drug addicts. You can still have a fun time listening to the band without getting drunk or tripping on drugs. You have to look at Trey Anastasio who is no longer a drug addict. He is clean now and he is a much better musician when he is sober. During his rehab adventure here in Saratoga Springs, he promised us a concert and he kept that promise by performing at SPAC for the last show of the Phish tour.

If you so called Phish phans were so supportive of Phish, I wish the drug addict phans would follow Trey's suit by going to drug rehab to get clean. I was hoping for phans to follow Trey on drug rehab, but of course, they don't.

Drugs are suicide and jam band fans are killing themselves.

Without the Drugs...What good is the music?

Trey was better when he was riding the Horse.

I remember back in the late 80's i went to a guns n roses concert at spac there were so many kids drunk and pukeing all over the place! It's to bad that people can't just go for the music it has to become a big fest where they have to get all messed up!

These are probably good kids who needed a place to crash for the night and chose the wrong place and i'm sure they were at the show for the music. Probably headed back from the end of tour, if they didn't cause any harm or bother anyone--why is this news?

Man, are you THICK!! Why get toasted after paying for concert tickets, fighting crowds, and dragging stuff to the concert? I know, next you say the music sounds so clear when you're stoned. I've done my drugs, got stoned at concerts and elsewhere, but it got to the point where my attitude sucked. You can have all the fun you want, but eventually, you'll come around and realize that if you want to make the long haul, you're going to have to make some "choices". Drugs all your life or be prosporus?

The choice is yours, I've made mine and I LIKE living comfortably with a good salary from my job where I have to stay focused. I don't want to be a brain dead loser at 50.

I think the issue is that they chose a NY State patch of land for their campsite with the drugs. I'm sure that if they had gone a bit further out and used a corner of a farmer's field, they probably would have been in, out, and gone without being noticed.

News sources rarely show pictures of rapists and murders early on in a case, so as to 'protect the accused' and yet it is necessary to show the pictures of a few people who trespassed on school property out of session and had a small amount of drugs? Give me a break.

Agreed. Have you ever wondered why one day they say "name witheld due to age" and the next day the name is all over the place because of the crime?

I dont think you have to wait until 50 to be a "brain dead Loser" you are already there.

How can anyone be sober and actually pay to see that horrible band.

Hey, good too see your living High on the Hog with that good job...hope you dont break your arm patting yourself on the back.

You and "drugs are bad" must have been pretty funny at that show...Kinda like virgins at an swing party no?

I commend you Step 12. Too bad many of the drugged out losers on here dont use you as an example. Nothing good comes from being a drunk or druggie.

Dearphamily please read before you comment. They were wasted on drugs. Had drugs on them. And were camping illegally on school grounds. In case you didnt know schools are DRUG/ALCOHOL/TOBACCO free zones. That is the law. Along with having illegal substances on them.

woah devvy....i will agree that they were on school grounds with drugs and that was a terrible idea; however- i think i met one of these kids on tour and they are good kids. They didn't cause harm to anyone and yet i see their pictures posted everywhere. i agree with perplexed, there is no reason to post these kids pictures and make a small amount of drugs such a big deal- there isn't always a picture of a gunman next to thier newspaper ad....just sayin

Dearphamily good kids do not have LSD ecstacy and mj in their posession. I disagree with you on pics of gunman. There are always pictures. As with rapists and pedophiles their pics are posted as well. As they should be. Had they had a little mj on them I would agree with you. But LSD and Ecstasy are hard drugs.

One time when I was around 6 or 7, my parents brought me to a Phish concert. I thought the music was horrible, until my dad gave me a helium ballon that didn't float and told me to breath it in. Instead of my voice sounding high pitched, it got really deep, and the music sounded really, really good. I felt kind of funny too. When I don't have these strange helium balloons, the music is just plain awful. Now when my parents make me go to shows like this, I make sure to stay right near the people who have these helium balloons (I couldn't make it to the SPAC one because my sundress was all muddy.) I am sure that if these people who were camping at the school made some of these helium balloons for the kids, and introduced them to Phish, they would have been commended instead of arrested. After all, the music programs in schools are suffering.

i was one of the three arrested and i would just like to post to all you old wooks that want to sit and point the finger and assume that we are not into the music and just do insane ammounts of drugs. we weren't camping on school grounds...we just pulled over on the shoulder to re-arrange the car for a safe ride home. couldn't see out the back. we were sober and no children were even around...school is not even in session assholes. it's a bullshit case blown out of perportion because we were on tour with phish. we are not drug addicts and none of this should have been news at all. the cop that arrested us searched my car after he constrewed false charges which permitted him to conduct an illegal, unwaranted search.(which i provided the cops with valid license and insurance) we've been thrown usder the bus and chargesd up the ass for some pigs ignorance and it's now two weeks after the whole incident and they still will not release my car and all of our belongings in it. it was absolutely unjust what the cop did to us. he infringed on our civil rights and didn't even miranda us. he was a loser rookie that was actually already thrown off the force and had to go suck politicians dicks in albany to get his job back in Ravena. and hes on probation. he shouldnt even have a badge or a gun. hes a total boob. its all just small town bullshit...all they want is money from fines and court surcharges. if it was such a problem that I was parked there...don't you think they could have told us that it was school property and just asked us to move? all of the articles and news reports i have read are all fabricated and untrue. the whole thing is laughable. we come from buffalo...our cops have much more to worry about than hasseling harmless kids parked on the side of the road. i would not advise anyone to drive through the town of Ravena...it blows. not to mention that we would have just drove away if it wasn't matt's idiotic, incessent and sarcasstic rambling to the cops that looked like he had been on meth when in actuallity he was completely sober. whatever. just wanted to put my two cents in.

I smoke pot and trip occasionally, usually just at concerts.... like when i saw Phish at Darien Center, NY this past tour. i support a job, have friends/ loving parents and have never felt my "drug" use has gotten bad enough to need rehab. Not every drug is extremely harmful to the human psyche or lifestyle, that's what gov. propoganda has done. It has group non-harmful drugs with the dangerous ones so that all drugs seem bad. I do agree, some people go overboard with narcotics and with nitrous balloons....but for the most part, Phish Phans are GREAT PEOPLE who don't get into any serious trouble....they're just having a lil fun in a boring world.:D

To be expected during such an event...I made the same trek from Buff. to Saratoga and we ended up parking/partying in the state park which i found a little odd. There were no major problems...The school is a little sketchy tho i must admit, you'd be asking for problems
