If you let the bill pass so alcohol can be sold in your county, there won't be so many drunks on the road driving to find it in another county. You can benefit from the taxes & sales of alcohol.May not be to your liking, but you will have more dollars to go to your needs.

Dry counties are boring. C'mon loosen up and at least get wet with beer and wine sales. I've seen so many country bumpkins driving down the middle of a narrow road "just cause" and they just left da church. Ice cold brewskeys for everyone...on me.

I agree. The economic benefits would be huge and this area will finally move out of the 18th century...We may even have something else to eat besides BBQ and onion rings...

I live in Taylorsville, and I have to drive by the most retarded billboard every morning on the way home from work. It claims that the alcohol-related incident rate in Alexander county is 7.5% with the state average being 5%. It then asks if prosperity and success are worth the death and grieving it will supposedly cause. You have to be a complete inbred moron to fall for that one, oh wait...

I think it is a good thing that Alexander County is dry. I've lived there off and on for over 10 years. My children benefited from not having an added temptation of going to a club. You all are old enough to drive I'm assuming, so drive out to something in another county and let Alexander continue to be a place that one can raise a family in.

and as that happens and all the jobs leave and the economy begins to suffer and your property taxes go up and your services go down....you continue to pray...and feel happy that your childern were "less tempted" than others in surronding counties.....When you have Jesus in your heart, is he not supposed to "lead you not into temptation"...so no matter where "sin" is availible Jesus will guide you away from it.

But wait, I forgot, you only put your beliefs in Jesus, you still want to legislate morality thorough your beliefs not through what Jesus teaches.

It is really sad to see how depressed the economy is in Taylorville and how poor some of the people are. This would have really helped the community and brought in many jobs. People are too stuck in their ways to see that. Very disappointing.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Capricorn

Confusion reigns supreme today, especially when dealing with financial matters. You could get into a muddle when sorting out your accounts or when working out how much you owe someone, even though you may not notice this at the time. It certainly isn't the day for parting with large sums of money because the chances of something going wrong are very high.
