This thread is being started to discuss what did and did not happen to Emily. It is going to be a bit graphic so those unable to deal with it should back out now.

I am simply going to talk about what happened, and what that might tell us about the killer.

1. There is absolutely no evidence she was raped. That speaks to the motive -- it wasn't a sex crime.

2. We may not agree on the number, but she was shot more than once. the more times she was shot, the more anger was involved. Note - a hitman shoots once - twice if necessary. Nothing personal, just a job.(That points to someone close, unless the person had some mental issues and was just angry.)

3. Her body was put in the truck. WHY? If she was killed on the farm, why move her at all? An intruder would not have to take her anywhere -- just leave her where she died. Someone trying to frame the husband wouldn't have to move her either. The only reason to move her, IMO, is to buy time, to make it hard to determine the time of death. That wouldn't be a hitchhiker - it would be someone who belonged on the farm who was worried about an alibi. Right?

4. Her body was left in the truck -- not tossed out on the side of the road somewhere. that also points to someone who cared about her enough they didn't want animals getting to the body. That doesn't mean it was Jerry -- could fit almost anyone who knew her, or knew people around her and didn't want them to have to deal with a mutilated body.

5. We do not know if her body was dumped in the tool box or "posed" in some way. That might also offer some insight into her killer.
*A cold killer wanting to leave a message for her husband might have posed her.
*Someone else might have wanted to simply get her in there where animals and the elements couldn't get to her -- but might not have wanted to "touch" her -- so dumped her in there.
*Someone closer who was sorry for the murder might have actually placed her in there carefully, made sure she wasn't in an awkward position but in a "sleeping pose".

6. Someone - probably the killer - was very anxious for the body to be found -- that tells us the killer cared for some reason. LE will have to figure out why.
*Was it because life insurance wouldn't be paid out without a body? Maybe so but -- think about it -- how long would it have been before SOMEONE checked the truck. No way her body would never be found.

So why the hurry? My guess is that it was someone who didn't want her missing too long. Was that because he wanted to end the family's worry? or was the killer worried about the body decomposing? Maybe the person really wanted to see the victim one more time and wanted her to look "nice". Something to consider.

There are many things that did and didn't happen in any murder case - and studying the details helps the detectives understand the killer, his motives and reasoning.

The truck came back clean. No one in SC noticed any blood on the truck. If someone was shot(and possibly bludgeoned)she would have been bloody - how do you move a body and keep the truck clean?

Either she was wrapped in something or the truck was washed.

Something there the police need to work on.

I agree with everything you said. This is just one of the reasons I thought you are a reporter. Doesn't matter to me what you are...just keep posting.

Brainstorming is a good thing -- and the truth is, the cops don't have the time to do enough of it. Even they will admit that there are times they are just overwhelmed with other things and wish they COULD brainstorm.

They can't but we can.

And if they are watching the forum - which they very well may be - they may get some information or ideas they are glad to get.

But brainstorming means a GROUP is at work -- join in. Certainly you have something to contribute.

Appears there just two of us that are concerned and want the real truth. If you have info and that will help in this case then you really should give it to the FBI, Sheriff, County Police or someone you can trust to investigate. I still think you are a reporter.

I don't have anything that will help them solve this. No need for me to call anyone.

I posted early on that I had called the sheriff's department once and was told to call back. I am sure they have heard the story by now. I hope their operators are betterat handling such calls now. If that is all I contribute I will be happy.

Cowabunga and a few others seem interested in seeing this through. A few others want to read and criticize the forum -- I can ignore them.

I do understand the concerns about polluting the jury pool but I don't think enough are reading here to be concerned. And I dont think asking questions is going to hurt anything -- certainly anyone reading about the murder is asking questions.

But even if a juror shouldmonitor these forums now-- months before being chosen for the jury... I see nothing wrong in stimulating the minds and imaginations of potential jurors - let them see that there are various theories and suspects - encourage them to THINK about each and every bit of information that they might see in court.

Have to get to work now -- back later.

I hope you know that I too wish for this person that killed Emily to be found guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt and punished to the fullest extent of the Law. Get your work done and hurry back!

I understand LE is asking people NOT to post on the Internet. They don't want information exchanged. They are convincing people that putting all the facts out could hurt the case.

I do understand - and I can respect those who want to remain silent.

But there are others out there who have information they want to share who are afraid to call the authorities. I hope they will find someplace with free Internet services and send info to the police -- or post SOMEWHERE so the authorities can find it. Or mail in what they feel authorities need to know.

Keeping silent is NOT going to help solve this.

No - not me.

I understand they have asked people they have interviewed, people who knew the Andersons and might be witnesses, not to talk about the case and that includes on the internet.

I believe the evidence will show there are more injuries than just the gun shots.

If she was kicked, his footwear will be important - I hope the investigators collected all of his shoes.

I wonder what lab is being used to process the evidence? The SBI? Probably, right?

elsewhere someone is suggesting the front loader was used to pick up the body and drop her in the tool box. That would certainly exlain the vehicle being wrapped and removed from the farm.

GREG LACOUR glacour@charlotteobserver.LENO IR - Jerry Anderson, a Caldwell County man charged in the murder of his wife, plans to ask a judge to approve a court-appointed attorney for him because he can't afford to hire his own, an attorney representing him temporarily told a judge today.
The lawyer, Lisa Dubs of Hickory, told District Court Judge Greg Hayes during Anderson's first appearance that her client's debts "exceed the monetary value of his assets."
She didn't go into any specifics, and Hayes instructed Anderson to file an affidavit on his financial status in order to have another attorney appointed.
The judge also scheduled a probable-cause hearing for Feb. 20 in District Court in Lenoir, and postponed a bond hearing for Anderson, who remains without bond in the county jail.
The court appearance was the first for Anderson, 46, since his arrest Friday on a first-degree murder charge. His wife, Emily Anderson, 49, was killed Dec. 29, records show, and found shot to death in the tool compartment of her pickup truck on Jan. 7, after her husband had reported her missing.
Jerry Anderson, wearing a black-and-white jail jumpsuit, quietly answered, "Yes, your honor," to each of Hayes' questions about whether he understood the charge against him and the potential penalty -- death. District Attorney Jay Gaither said his office hasn't decided whether to pursue the death penalty.

Just to help straighten out some of the crap you put on here, the casket was open at the service here in NC. Did you ever think about trying to prove how Jerry didn't do it? Oh that's right all we do anymore is look for the bad in people and try to play CSI! Give him a chance and give me a break!

Sure sounds like everyone here is giving him every chance! If he did it, throw the book at him. If he didn't do it, it won't matter anyway. Because of people spreading crap that they don't know anything about and making him out to be some monster before it's even proved whether he did it or not.

I will again say, "If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck....then it is probably a duck. I believe some of the folks on this forum have connections with those that have the facts and I for one appreciates knowing whats going on! I am not disputing your opinion that some of the postings are BS. You can pick the ones I'm talking about

Here I agree with you. I do hope whoever killed her pays for what they done. But I'm not sliding a noose around Jerry's neck until they prove he done it "beyond a shadow of a doubt"!

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Aries

Financial muddles are more than likely today so be careful if you're going shopping. You might be accidentally short-changed or there could be a misunderstanding about how much something costs. This isn't a good day to lend friends anything valuable in case they don't return it or they damage it in some way. Better safe than sorry.
