My former supervisor acted like she was on drugs.

Evidently Convergys must get some of the supervisors from the liquor store or drug houses.

She had no interest in training employees or providing help when necessary.

Why does this company still exist. I have never been reprimanded at work for anything in my past. My T.O. would not properly document my Paid Time Off. She rolled her best friend's absences into 1 absence and refused to document my time that I earned off. I was terminated because of her actions not mine. This is totally ludicrous and I have hired an attorney to assist me with this discriminatory action as I documented all activity that affected me. I have a case. She refused to assist me when I needed help and I worked there for 10 months. So many people told me not to go there and work but I did not take their advice. Now I have to explain on my work record why I left this HORRIFIC PLACE when I apply for jobs. Please do not go work there as the Managers and T.Os are on a power kick with no education to support their ignorance.

I started at Convergys in April of 2010 worst job ever! The city I'm in has a lot of unemployment, so there are many people with university degrees and college diplomas working as CSR"s in our center.

To give a brief background of myself. I'm a guy in my mid 20"s recent college grad from pre-health. I worked in retail management for 6 years prior to this, I have also worked in a retirement home as a Personal Support Worker. The reason I wanted to mention to past is to compare on my past experiences and the differences between my current employment at Convergys.

I have never once at a previous job ever been " written up" for anything. I consider myself a hard working individual. I put everything I can into resolving each call. I have never had so much difficulty with doing a job before. Convergys is very big on the ACE survey they send to the customers, and stats. For example, if you receive a Ace survey ANY lower then 10/10, your Team Leader will go over the call with a fine tooth comb and look for ANY REASON YO WRITE YOU UP, or as Convergys calls it..... A Progressive Counseling Letter (PCP) btw if you get 2 PCPs within a year period, then next step is employment review,(meaning termination of employment). Which I have witnessed this with many co-workers. Taking calls is like tip-toeing on thin ice, it is next to impossible to follow EVERY one of there redicules policies. Hoping that the Customer does not give you a bad Ace survey, because if they do, the reps job is on the line. The bottom line is, Convergys may offer 40 hours a week, but it is a terrible job, living in fear that you can and likely will be fired at any given time, for any given reason. Not to mention having to assist people with areas we are not trained in, the help isn't there when you ask for it. MANAGEMENT IS TERRIBLE. All they are there for is to give out Progressive Counseling Letters. Its negative, the whole environment is. On one hand we are being told to Not under any circumstances waive activation fees, but if you get a bad ACE because of it, your getting a PCP for "Tools Usage" a general term they use to describe when they believe we didn't use Tools to resolve customer concerns. There is no support from management, how can they tell us to enforce policies,if they aren't there to back us up on them. The ACE survey is taken way out of context. It is important to have Customer feedback, but they need to understand that there will be negative feedback from time to time. if a rep is not doing there job multiple times, it would make sense to give them a PCP, but why must they right up people for Absolutely EVERYTHING! We try our best, they work us like dogs, there is zero appreciation, and all focus is 100% of the time on what was done incorrectly as oppose to the good surveys and what was done correctly.

Perhaps in other centers there are less problems, but in the Welland On center, this is the truth

Its true, all they do is write you up. management is not there to help you EVERYTHING IS NEGATIVE. The ACE survey is taken way out of context. There are double standards, policies change daily, and no one will back you up. You are accountable for everything. It truly is a job a fear as if you are treading on thin ice, every cal you take. PCP"s are Progressive Counseling Letters, they are write UPS that Convergys Team leaders and Operations managers hand out like candy. You gat then for Everything. CSRs are humans, we make mistakes, but we need a smidgeon of job security and management to back us up. It really should not be the way it is. This is why the Welland Center has such a high turnover. We are obsessed with working employees hard, zero appreciation and understanding.

The only reason people in Welland stay is due to the high unemployment we face. Each day is a battle. Many of us have got to the point where we don't even care about solving the customers issue, we only care about covering ourselves from getting a PCP for not doing something right. The confidence level is so low of everyone. We are treated like children.

I once had my team leader "deliver" me a PCP for "tools usage". I am Tech Iphone support. The call was transferred from Customer Care, the previous agent transferring the call did not run the tech guide. I ran the Tier 2 guide and filed a case for the issue. The customer filled out the Ace survey scoring it low based on a network issue that a case had to be files for. The call was torn apart by management looking for a reason to deliver a PCP and the reason that I got it was... Because the precious rep didn't run the tech guide, I was apparently supposed to have run it, before starting the Tier 2 guide. So I am getting written up for someone else not doing there job.

Another example of a PCP given was for missing a step in the tech guide, as it requires us to use a program that we were unfamiliar with nd never trained on. Management is not there to train, coach and assist us proactively. They are too busy escorting people to the back room to deliver them PCPs.

Wake up convergys, this is no way to treat employees. This is abuse, and it isn't to be stood for. As soon as I have the opportunity to get out of there, I'm gone, if they don't fire me first.

btw, a friend of mine was fired over an attendance issue. We have a points attendance system. She is a very nice young hard working girl, who happens to suffer from a nut allergy. Someone brought peanuts in, she had an attack, left in an ambulance, and was given attendance points, leading to later termination. Yes she had bad attendance, but she had doctors notes to support any absence, she tried her best, and was left without a job to support herself, without notice until she found something sufficient.

why must they right everyone up for Everything?

Convergys must rank in the top two places on this earth as the worst places to work. As previously stated they do not care about their employees. Convergys will go out of it's way to screw it's employees over and they're glad to do it.

I recently worked for convergys (at home) and i must say they know exactly what to say in the beginning to pull you in when i was told about the client we would be taking calls for i was excited because i had previous experience with that client through another employer in 2007 well the first few days were smooth besides waiting for everyone to get their headsets and flashdrives once training was officially started it was good in the beginning then we were all over the place one day we're on one topic then in the middle of the day we jump to something else the systems were on fritz almost everyday, we didn't have all our passwords the trainer was not on point with breaks at all then when it was time to leave she wants to talk and talk and expect us to sit there but if someone had a question and it's time to leave she was quick to say how we had to be punctual logging out because we were not allowed ot during training, which i can't believe they considered that training because it sucked the dates we were told we would start transition were changed and moved up a week and a half earlier then they threw us on the phones and criticized us for our lack of knowledge i was talked down to after i had done all i could do for a customer on a call and she still wanted a supervisor so because i asked for the escalation transfer number i was in the wrong and the trainer let me know in big red bold letters for 10 mins how wrong i was and then spoke indirectly about me in class then wrote me up for it i couldn't deal with that and i refused to be talked down to i tried to speak to someone in hr and was pretty much told to deal with it no thank you i left and i'm happy i did

I have been employed at convergys for 3 years now and I can honestly say at first the job was ok.Could do overtime ANYTIME and the calls were NEVER back to back.Now EVERYTHING has changed within the site i work to.Cant have your cell phones anywhere inside...break room, outside smoke area etc...Were constantly hiring but also constantly taking a day from pretty much everyones shift bc were over hired which i do not understand smh.Our hr manager recently informed us that convergys are needing A LOT of agents to work from home....I feel like i should try it bc now EVERYDAY that I have to go to the convergys site that I work at it seems as if Im always getting depressed and stressed!!! Then again I look at them wanting to hire so many home agents only so that they can fire them smh...The job has REALLY gotten CRAZY!!!! I need the lil $$$ that i do make there for my child so Im goin to look more into the work at home positions and if it dont work out from there Im done with convergys.

I can tell you this....
If you are: White, christian, republican, and/or straight..... They don't want you and they will do everything they can to get rid of you. I worked there long enough to get put "on the floor" and it was the worst experience of my life. My supervisor was a flaming gay liberal democrat who HATED anyone that wasn't like him. They lie and cheat you with absolutely no consequences. You'd be better off giving hand jobs in the bathroom on the square than you will be working for these incompetents.

That is what they do! You work two weeks and they wait a week to pay you. I just quit today because I couldn't take it anymore. I worked the ATT project and all they were worried about was the sale. They are ripping people off and for $9 an hour you can keep it! They treat you like crap, work you crazy hours, it is a total rip off!
