I don't believe candidates should be allowed to represent more then one party. Some voters don't (Didn't) pay attention to the candidates name and were voting against a party candidate or party. If the person they are voting for is both Independent and either Democrat or Republican the votes should not be totaled because of the differing parties. The person (If he or she wins will be representing a party that "may" have lost the election. This is misleading to the public.

If the public is stupid enough to fall for these tactics, they shouldnt be allowed to vote. Maybe a simple common sense test should be required to vote.
