"Whitman believes that crime-wise, York City has hit bottom. "

Someone should tell him the chart he's looking at is upside down.

Ah, the four wise men with all their infinite optimism and guidance. One of you should run for mayor or police commisioner and really set it straight. Or better yet two of you should run for the two open seats on city council, one for mayor and the other for either a judges seat or police commisioner and then you can take over the city and rid us off everything you think is bad and evil in York. Now thats a plan!!

I like to know why York City Police can't even get these kids from selling drugs and hanging out right in front of peoples property . The police should be able to go right up to these gangs of kids and id theme if they dont live there then they are trespassing . We do have a ordiance its time we put it into force!!!!

York City has a loitering law that can not be enforced. It was declared unconstitutional. Want to do something? Call City Council and let them know you want the loitering law modified. I'm doing that myself.

Having dealt with incompetent, lazy, careless, and cluesless city cops for over the past 20 some years is what lead me to finally sell all my last rental properties in that hell hole! And that is why I reinvested in properties in west york! Not only do you see them every day and at all times of the day, they actually come when call 911!! No more of the pass the buck crap lines of BS the city cops would tell me, "call the desk sergeant, etc, or call the station because I am too busy flirting with drunk skanks at an underage drinking party!" Nope, I no longer have to deal with that mentality!!! Not only do the west york cops come to the scene, they actually investigate what you happenned and then arrest the culprit! Funny how the city cops always told me that "Sorry, man but we can't do nothing to help you, that there is a civil problem."

City cops cannot even identify a crime!!

almost a month ago my aunt was shot in the leg trying to break up a fight where about 5 kids were trying to gang up on her daughter. they told the police who the young man was that shot her, where he goes to school where he hangs out and they haven't got him yet?! this kid goes to school everyday like nothing happen. now her son got jumped while coming out of a store by this kids friends because in their words "they won't make it to testify in court" and you know what the police told my 17 year old cousin after he got jumped by 3 boys? "get your punk ass in the car and go home" police are supposed to protect and serve...just not in york city i guess?

Yes, the city is being overrun by crime and yet the city will apparently have a criminal with 11 convictions carring a gun around town as Constable.According to the Magisterial Docket sheets the only candidate on the ballot has 2 bad check charges, 1 harassment charge and 4 charges for truancy. I am so glad he will be helping to rid the city of criminals

Your experience with the York City police is nearly the same as mine. You can report a crime in the city but the police don't even bother to come out many times.

I think her sisters are correct. If anyone is robbbed as much as she is, she must like it. My old aunt Mammie was being robbed and as the robbers rubbed all over her body looking for money, they got mad and said, "Old lady, I've been rubbing you up and down for 10 minutes and can't find your money, so where do you keep your cash?" She replied, "I don't have any cash on me, but if you keep up your rubbing, I will write you a check."
