There is a song from an off-off Broadway musical making the internet rounds that sums up the Brown County welfare mothers' collective attitude. The play is (en)titled (Get it?) "Greed: A Musical for Our Times" and the song is "Another Kid". It goes something like this (soprano solo vocal, key of C), "Some of my friends are destitute. Some of them are beggars. But, for me, there's a subsidy if I spend my whole life pregers." For what it's worth..........

Should Hit the Top 10 by this weekend ! I can see them dancing to it on the Brown County Bandstand Show ! I would even place a bet, it will be sung before the Tractor Pulls at the Brown County Fair !

The community needs to get this madness out of our town. Its been brought to the community attention that the Gaslight Theater is welcoming the madness of the C-Marsh and Jordon Brooks clan to perform this weekend. The question is do we not have enough drugs, drama.and negative publicity in our town already ? Why welcome this again ? Please contact the Brown County Chamber of Commerce and ask is the rental money for this event that much needed to bring this chaos to Georgetown.

I'm pretty sure we were told last year when this happened, that they would not do this again. The town of Georgetown does not need a " rapping" venue, along with that comes disorderly conduct, drugs and a reputation such as the ones of some of our surrounding towns and communities. Doing research on some of the participants revealed that they have criminal records. I'm not so sure the majority of Georgetown approves of this. Please contact the brown county chamber of commerce to voice your opinion.

Well its sad that the community we have decided to reside in feels that the negative activity that they are allowing to go on in the middle of Georgetown is justifiable because they rented the Gaslight Theater out. I guess the chamber feels that the money ($300.00 or $400.00) is more important then the safety and reputation of our town.

You refer to yourself as a monkey ? Well then, take your Monkey partners to another town to HANG AROUND in, and create negative feedback for them. The tax payers in this community deserves more then a Circus coming to town.

Yo dum-dum, in case you have not noticed your whole town is nothing but a LOONEY TUNE CIRCUS. Your town is the laughing stock of the tri-state. Hey,, put your clown shoes and rubber nose on and maybe you can get some real positive feedback for your goofy stupid town. You buffoon !

What happened the last time a rap concert was held in the Gaslight Theater? What citations were issued and laws broken?

Just because this type of music may not be your cup of tea doesn't mean everyone who listens to it is bad and breeds negativity. As long as the chamber is making sure each renter meets the criteria of the rental contract, does it matter what type of event happens in the theater? To ask them to discriminate based on the type of music being played would open up a whole new can of worms for them. Last I heard, last year when C-Marsh played, Chief Coburn asked extra help to come in just in case, and found that there were no issues at all. Why sit around and create controversy? That type of thinking is much more damaging to our community that one night of rap music a year in the theater.
