I am usually pretty quiet on here. I donít rant nor rave. I do want to give a shout out for B.E. Wilson, an Ohio guy who appears to be a new author on Amazon. I like to support the locals!
I stumbled on his book on Amazon, and itís pretty good! The guy has a sense of humor. The storyline kept me hooked and he kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I wonít give out any spoilers, but I was soooo wrong on who the mole was! Grrr. lol
Getting mixed reviews but most liked it and I did so thumbs up B.E. Wilson.
Check it out if you like science fiction/action/space exploration stuff.
Itís on Amazon, Highway To The Stars: The Beginning by B.E. Wilson
Nothing like a little self-promotion, eh B.E.? As a fellow Brown County author, I sympathize, but remember, you are not playing to the literati in this forum, more like the "illiterati". Just coined it, gonna use it.

I think he'd be rather offended if someone accused him of being me, considering I'm just a middle aged mom who has way too much spare time. lol But for someone to think I could write like he does, I take that as a compliment. If you know him, bet you'd find out fast he's without a clue that this is even on here.
Pick on me for a shameless plug but he's innocent.
Speaking of picking...if you sympathize and are an author too, you probably remember those early days when you depended on word of mouth (unless you had fat bank roll). I figured I'd throw the guy a bone.
I don't write, but if I did, I know what my first book would be about.*grin* I'd write about authors who automatically assume the worst in people, maybe some legal book about authors who attempt to defame someone's character without even asking someone to verify their credentials. Maybe I should take up writing someday.. but not until after I am done trying to be nice.*giggles*
I went through a legitimate publishing house and had an agent. Old school, but still the most effective marketing technique. A decent book review or 3 doesn't hurt. I wish you both well. As you can see, literacy is not a requirement to post on Topix.

Lol thank you Not Chuck Klien, Nothing wrong with old school and I agree, I do like a paperback in my hand more than an ereader, but I read so much that I would make an episode of Hoarders if I didn't swap to the ebooks.
And I know, I don't write in real purty english, but that's why I'm just a reader not a writer.
If you don't mind, what's your book? I'll give it a read.. unless it's history, history bores me to sleep.
Start with THE WAY IT WAS, Nostalgic Tales of Hot Rods and Romance. It's out of print but available through Amazon.com . I posted as not Chuck Klein so I would not be confused with the late baseball player of the same name (the Hoosier Hammer). Think of it's genre as "historical fiction".
