Does anyone understand why we pay $10- a month for a maintenance fee, which sometimes is more then your actual water usage???? You call Tate Monroe & you can't even understand the girl who answers the phone because she has an accent. Then you ask to speak to someone else & they seem to be reading a script & gets an attitude because you ask a questions & she doesn't know the answer! You ask to speak to the General Manager but he is NEVER available!!!!! I know I can not be the only unhappy customer!!!!

From what I've heard, Tate Monroe is a joke! They don't care about anybody but their selves. It's all about making the money, which is kind of funny since they are a nonprofit association. The funny thing is, if you go to their website, they are owned by their customers! That means you!!!!

recently had a leak at my main. noticed a $15 raise in my water usage and called them. Guy was really nice about it but told me that if I dug up the section at the main myself I could probly save alot of money that they would charge me for having them dig it up. the section leaking was their responsibility. they had it fixed in a couple days even threw down some grass seed but I didn't get prorated for the leak usage which was disapointing. Thankfully i caught it quickly

Their price list, on their website says
5/8” meter:$20.00 bi‐monthly minimum charge. Water usage $5.00 per 1,000 gallons.
A "minimum" tells me you will be charged that amount whether you use that much (4,000 gallons @$5/1,000) or not.
Right?
But it is not really a minimum it more like a meter charge.
If it were a "minimum" we should get 4,000 gallons of water for that $20,(if you use that much in two months).
But that is not the way it works ...You pay for ALL of the water you use, on TOP of the $20...."Fee".

This is very misleading and makes it appear as if we are being cheated out of 4,000 gallons of water every two months.
This needs to be looked into and clarified because it looks like we are being CHEATED!
Check out the price list yourself at this link:

If we can't get through at their office then we need to contact our board members about it.

You do don't get anything for the $20- bi-monthly maintenance fee. No mater if you use water or not, your charged the $20- bi-monthly maintenance fee. The fee for actual water usage is, every thousand gallons of water used, is $5-.

I've had my water shut off twice in the last 3 years because they can't read the numbers on my mailbox. They were suppose to go about 12 houses down from mine and no of theirs nor mine even match.

If you check with other water suppliers in the area they ALL give you water for their "minimum".
Because they have a true minimum and Tate-Monroe has a "bi-monthly meter fee" that they CALL a minimum....
once again misleading.
They either need to give us our 4,000 gallons of water for our $20 or change the wording on their price list.
Or maybe refund us our 4,000 gallons/bi-monthly of water we HAVEN'T BEEN GETTING....for years now.

JLM, if you review your previous bills, you will find that the "bi-monthly meter fee" has been going on since 2000. It was a $10 "bi-monthly meter fee" if you had a meter, but no structure on the property. They raised that to $20 in 2010.

The price list calls it a "BI-MONTHLY MINIMUM" not a "bi-monthly meter fee", which once again implies you get water for that minimum. This very well could have been the intent when the board members WE ELECTED voted on this price list.
http://www.tatemonroe.com/assets/images/docs/...

For instance Clermont County Water charges a "bi-monthly minimum" of $17.40 and for that "MINIMUM" THE CUSTOMER GETS UP TO 5,000 GALLONS OF WATER (if you use that much)....as would be expected. Incidentally they use the VERY SAME language Tate Monroe does...only they are giving the customers their water. Also their water is only $3.48 per thousand gallons.
You can view the price list here:

http://wrd.clermontcountyohio.gov/schedule+4+...

Other water suppliers are similar.
New Richmond:
Water Service - The utility bills are billed per cubic foot based upon water consumption. The current water rate is $0.0251 per cubic foot inside the Village corporation limits. A minimum water bill charge is currently $7.52 for 0 – 300 cubic feet of usage.

A cubic foot is about 7.5 gallons.
So you are getting up to 2244 gallons for that $7.52, if you use that much in a month.
Usage costs $3.35/thousand gallons.
You can view their prices here:
http://www.newrichmond.org/utilitydept.htm

I could go on, the point being, Tate Monroe Water is the ONLY ONE I have found, who does not give you water for the "minimum".
I think we need to show up at the next Board Meeting and find out why we are being cheated out of 4,000 gallons of water bi-monthly. When their own price list even implies the same.
This just looks like this was a move by MANAGEMENT to increase revenues despite the intent of what OUR Board Members passed.
Any customer can run for the board and the customers get to vote for them and they should be protecting OUR interests as well.
It is clear that management is trying to sidestep this issue for obvious reasons, and our only recourse is to talk to our board members who hold the REAL power here.
