Sea weed in dutchs slue

We live near the bridge,The sea weed and
other growing vegetation has choked out
our deck,
Will bmid spray again????They have not done
so this in the water,They did spray the blackberry
vines.
I am worried about damage to my boat with all pf
the sea weed. [e-mail]

I guess having a taller bridge that will allow larger boats to navigate the sloughs is something that has been desired by the boating clubs on the Island for sometime. My concern is this; the vegitation has taken over many of the water-ways in the sloughs. We can't dredge the area because some fools think we might disturbe the protected critters on the river-beds. We can't spray to try and kill the vegitation as it might endanger the fish. What good is it to have an expenseive boat and dock when you can't get your boat out into the channel to enjoy the recreatiional activities offered around the Island? Any mitagation that has been tried is always in the Franks Track area, how about the rest of us that have homes, docks and boats in other areas around the Island, why haven't mitagation efforts been tried in the sloughs by our homes. Are there any plans to address the escalating vegitation problem, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of it? The area in front of our dock looks like we could walk across the slough pushing a lawn mower. So frankly, I don't care about a new and bigger bridge unless there are plans to deal with the vegitation problem around the whole Island at the same time.
