Storm Sandy Update Friday 11/2/12,
Okay folks, admittedly this is a horrible photo, but if you look real closely you can see the trucks lined up ready to roll! Editor's note: For those of us on Day # 5 without power watching the CL&P outage map move only by 1 or 2% from 34% yesterday to 32% today can be very discouraging.

Sometimes I wonder about CL & P logic on how they restore power to homes. I live in Bethel. We have an issue with a transformer on the corner of our street. Once a year the transformer pops and we lose power to 24 homes due to simple things like snow or rain. It takes them about 45 min. to fix it. Monday at 1:00pm before the storm hit it popped and we lost power. There are no lines down and everyone around us has had power the whole time and never lost it. So you think they would say hey this is an easy fix to get 24 homes back on line in 45 min.. Let's do them now. Well its Saturday morning I'm sitting in my living room with a coat on because its so cold in here and we have no power as of yet after calling them three times explaining what the problem is on our street and how this happens once a year.

So we have power now. Took them 15 min. after getting here to have us up and running. So we were out all week for something that took 15 min.!
