my heart goes out to the families that lost their chilldren. Yes, a task force is needed to look into why these kids aren't prepared to drive..........Sadly kids think they can do anything and not get hurt

The wrecked car should be toured around all the high schools as a reminder.

The facts of the accident are not in yet.

Rather an come up with another law that will go unenforced, kids need to see for themselves.

Anything to wake them up,rather then go to another wake.

Teen driving is already restricted, and there is already a law against speeding. More laws are not going to solve this problem. Education, increased enforcement, and more parent involvement are the only things that will change anything.

Exactly! When I was a teen, my high school had a driver's ed course. Why don't the high schools have a driver's ed course anymore?? Budget cuts! Saving money over saving lives. Yeah, makes sense to me (not!).

the semmonella family also has a 5 and a 12 year old son. The twelve year old is turning 13 on March 14. I feel so bad for the family.

in the Amity Orange JHS everyone was crying and CMTs started on the same day. the school was full of heavy hearts and tears.

I was with them that last night. We were shooting hoops at the JCC. Zefi, oh man, Zefi sinking threes like no other, i didnt think this would be the last time id see him playing basketball. I am actually From Amity Middle School Orange and I knew both James, 12, and Sal. Sal always had a serious face but you could just tell he was a happy person. Always willing to make you laugh. When I heard on tv I couldnt believe it. Sal was gone forever. Sometimes it's just not fair. Together they left us, best friends for what seems like more than forever. Always loved, never forgotten. I knew Sal since I was only five years old. He was one of the nicest people I had ever met. From the basketball games to the barbeques he was always fun to be around. I can't belive this is over. I mean yes we have pictures but we will never see him again. My heart goes out to the entire Semmonella family, especially James, Niko, and their parents. Your son was a tremendous athlete and a loving son, friend, nephew, grandson, and cousin. This must be hard on Niko, anyrhing Sal did, Niko had to do too. They were almost like father and son. We will miss you forever!!!!! We love you, sleep well Sal. We will see you soon.
Rest in Peace
