Haunted Hayride to Benefit FOX8 Gifts for Kids - WGHP

The Walkertown Girls Softball Association is teaming up with FOX8 Gifts for Kids for a haunted hayride.

I think it is great that they think of younger children and not just 12-13 year-olds and older. Last year I took my nine year-old and her three girl-friends and they were horrified. They want something a little less scary this year so I looked you guys up on google and there you were and you may be able to get us next year too, thank you sooo much!! YOU ARE GREAT FOR THINKING LIKE THAT!!!:)

This is NOT for young children. The scenes are VERY cheesy but at times grotesque. There was a scene depicting zombies roasting and eating dismembered body parts where the zombies climbed on the ride with real chainsaws--LOUD chainsaws. There are also lots of young children actually in the scenes. The ride is also dangerous as they PACKED people onto the ride with little children sitting on mom's laps near the edge. NOT worth $10 each.

I went to this event tonight thinking it was one of the mild "haunted" attractions. I was mistaken. My 8 year old son didn't like it at all and neither did his dad and I. There were close to 40 people crammed onto the ride during which one strange man sat on my feet and pushed his back into my knees the entire time, another strange man sat on part of my hip/thigh. They could hardly help it, it was that crowded. I was smacked hard in the face by a large flying rubber snake yanked up via a line during a scene that almost knocked my glasses off. Fortunately I had them on, or else it would have certainly caused an injury to my eye. Near the end of the ride when things were a tad lighter and less scary, they handed out Reese's Peanut Butter Cups to 7-8 of the children, but not to the other 10 - 12. That was just plain heartless and thoughtless. PS: only for experienced & tougher kids over age 10 years.
