How would you like it if an American citizen goes to Iran and they arrest them for charges of doing business with America?
Who should be more scared of the other? America has nuclear power and threaten to attack Iran every other day. Shouldn't Iran ban their S citizens from doing business with a country who may attack them? Is America going to use nuclear bomb in the attacks against Iran as they did against
This is a no basis accusations and should be thrown out.
America accepts dual citizenship with Iran. That means hey say if you want to make a pledge of legence to your country that is accepted by us as long as you make the same pledge to us. How do you accept an Iranian born to be an Iranian citizen but not be part of their government? It is like asking an American citizen not to vote or work for government agencies.
Iran accepts dual citizenship. When you go to Iran they don't arrest you for working for the government. There was a time they did not want yo to be a citizen of another country but even then they did not act seriously against any one who was a dual citizen.
If America doe snot accept Iranians to live like an Iranian in Ira, then they should not give them an American citizenship. If they are American citizen and choose to go and live in Iran and adapt Iranian citizenship, then US should take their American's citizenship away. In another word, US should not accept dual citizenship with the countries that they are not friendly with.
Ali Aminazmi's case is a beginning of a series of situations which may come to surface. There are hundreds of America citizens who have citizenship of Iran and do business with Iran. If America goes on war with Iran this situation is going to become more sensitive and it would be even harder to determine what are the actions that are accepted by an Iranian American living in Iran.Is America is going to capture all those Iranian citizens who are forced by the government of Iran to go to army because they have Iranians citizenship? If those Iranian refuse to go to army they will be arrested in Iran. If they do go to war once they come to US they will be rested by US!!
Make up you two countries more so USA, either accept one's right to choose what they want to do in which country and exercise their rights as a citizen of that county to what ever they want to be part of, or just ban dual citizenship with the other country.
SO UPDATE YOUR IMMIGRATION LAWS, DON'T PUT INNOCENT PEOPLE IN JAIL BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND YOU DON'T HAVE LAWS TO CLARIFY THOSE SENSITIVE SITUATIONS.
Meanwhile while you have not gotten your act together and your laws are vague, let this man go and choose the country he wants to be par of and be a full citizen of that country. Take his American citizenship away but don't set rules for him and let him do what he likes to do in a country that he wants to be part of. Let him live in Iran they way he wants to live not the way it is suitable for you. But make it clear he cant be American if he wants to be Iranian.
