When I tapped your link my anti-virus program SpyWare doctor alerted me to a possible virus on that site that tries to upload into your computer. It identified it as "Trojan.TDSSlsd6". Whatever that means! It may or may not be harmless, but who knows now days.

Fabioso wrote: <quoted text> So your judgment has nothing to do with the content of the site? Who funds stoptheaclu? I'm making my determination on the content. Why are you afraid to? Might find out you're wrong? The website I linked presents BOTH sides of the argument. 1 minute of looking at it establishes this. Whereas stoptheaclu is quite obviously a political site not interested at all in presenting both sides. It's hardly even about the ACLU. Here's a list of their "stories" from their front page today: Shocker! Another Tax Cheating Obama Nominee…zzzzzzz As Obama prints billions of greenbacks, the smarties are moving into Swiss francs Playing Political Games With our Healthcare AP Slips Bush Derangement Syndrome Into Farrow Death Notice? When We Voted for Unions to Run State Gov’t… The Imperialism Of The Babs Obama’s 3am Call To Hawaii The Origins Of Life Bristle With Puzzle And Paradox Rowan Williams’ Fresh Expressions of Moonbattery Michelle Bachmann Gets A Little Crazy Over Census PETA Takes Obama To Task For Killing A Fly, Sort Of Did Obama Admin. Try to Take Credit for Twitter’s Iran Coverage? Rationing WILL Come Etc, ad nauseam. I didn't list them all Name That Party: Dem Scandal, No Party Mention/GOP Scandal, Party Mentioned at Top Will the Real Republican Please Stand Up? That's EVERY story listed on their front page. EVERY one of them is a right-wing political opinion piece, NONE of them have ANYTHING to do with civil rights or the ACLU. QED but why do you change the subject? I didnt ask who funds stopaclu, you did. i ask simply who funds that org.

Probably because I am sick of people citing to stoptheaclu as if it is some kind of objective or reliable source. I have no idea who funds the other site. I just found them to be a bit more objective based on the content.

Mister, you are not going to find out the truth about the ACLU on that site, period. It is extremely partisan and takes great liberties with the truth. That doesn't mean you have to get your info from aclu.org either, but if you really are intellectually honest you shoud recognize stoptheaclu for the propaganda outlet that it most obviously is. There are objective sources. Why not use those? (never mind, I know why)

an american wrote: <quoted text>Ok Fabino what are the "real issues" IMHO, the vast amount of misinformation and outright lies told about the ACLU, civil rights, and the law in general. I have NO problem with legitimate criticism of the ACLU. Problem is, 99% of what I see on the Internet isn't legitimate criticism because it is based on falsehood. Example: the ACLU doesn't do enough about the Second Amendment. This is a legitimate criticism. the ACLU wastes time and money on trivial matters. I believe this sometimes myself, it is a legitimate criticism. The ACLU is anti-Christian. This is just plain bullshit. I can prove it false with a single link. Yet how many conservatives believe this, based on what they read on an obviously dishonest and slanted website? They believe what they want. The ACLU is communist. This one is so ironic it is actually hilarious. Fighting AGAINST the government's power over the individual is communist? Hello? People who say things like this haven't given ANY thought to what comes out of their mouth. They are just ignorant parrots.

PSL wrote: <quoted text> The government breaks it's own rules every day for years when allowing illegals to stay. So.......... what's your point? That's true and it is a real problem. And we can talk about why, if you like. But them doing that isn't necessarily a civil rights issue. It's always important to make sure those that have power over us and are supposed to be serving us obey ALL the rules. Erosion of our rights doesn't start in cases with popular defendants that belong to the majority culture/religion/race whatever...it doesn't happen with defendants that get sympathy from the juries and mercy from the judge. It happens in cases where the defendant is unpopular. Just as it was important to defend the rights of Nazis to march, even though they are offensive in the extreme, it is important to have oversight in immigration matters that have civil rights implications for us all - not just those pesky illegals.
