Tour cyclists showed poor road etiquette..

The cyclists participating in the recent "Bike Virginia Tour" spent the majority of their event in West Virginia - Jefferson County, to be precise. I have no doubt residents, and perhaps city officials, will not be welcoming the group back.
Some 2,000 cyclists descended on the region, and many allegedly displayed poor riding etiquette, rude behavior and a blatant disregard for state laws. By the vast number of Facebook posts I read, plus the chatter among my cycling club - the Panhandle Pedalers - people were clearly ticked off.
I experienced a few hundred of these riders firsthand one morning as my husband and I inched our way toward an important appointment, one we were ultimately late for due to the irresponsibility of tour participants.
As a cyclist and member of the Panhandle Pedalers, I am aware of bicycle laws and general road sharing etiquette. It irritated me to see these riders taking up half the road, instead of riding single file when cars were present, as West Virginia state law mandates.
