Malden man arrested for selling pot in Bernie

The Stoddard County Sheriff's Department is reporting the arrest of a Malden man accused of selling marijuana.

His name is John David Matthews from Malden. The paper said that after investigation arrangements were made to buy drugs from Matthews. So, it was an undercover operation.

I know that he graduated from MHS in 2001 and the he had a scholarship to play football somewhere and went for a couple of years.... Not sure what happened but he was always really nice in school. I personally don't have anything negative to say about him. I hate that he was doing this but its not like he is the only one in Malden doing it. He just happened to get caught.

If it's the same John David Matthews I used to know, he was practically given an atheletic scholarship and flunked out cause he didn't go to classes. The lady who helped him get the scholarship really got stung. J.D. used her kindness. He is from a family who doesn't care about him, and I feel sorry for him, but there are some people you just can't help. He had a ticket to better himself and blew it.

That’s right, he couldn't even make it a half of a semester, lets give him a pat on the back. He had chance to get out of Malden but blew it. If you really want a job you can get one, you may not like it and you may have to move, but they are out there. And being a crappy rapper is not job. Also why get bent out shape about getting caught, that’s part of the gamble when doing something illegal. Damn near legal is still illegal, he is just lucky it was only weed. Don't blame snitches, if he wasn't doing it in the first place there would be anything to snitch about.
