Teachers today are very lazy! They are just there to draw their govt check and get their tenure in.

I find year after year I do more of the work than the school does. I pay for school supplies not just for my child but to go into a community closet to provide for all students. I spend hours not helping with homework but teaching concepts that were not even introduced in the classroom before they come home with homework.

Sad....

I agree the vice principle is a little Hitler. Why is it ok for teachers to use their cell phones during school but if a child is sick and had has no faith in the school nurse ( neither does parent she must have got her degree at a college she didn't have to show up for) why that child gets an ASD for contacting her mom via text to let her know shes sick. The same rules should apply to teachers as well! Does Duncan use her phone during school hours? Does the school nurse use hers? What about the snotty little secretary who answers the phone! People think because they get a little power that they can do whatever they want and treat people ANY way they want. I'm so glad the timorous about Duncan going to the high school is just a rumor. Just a few short months and my child wont have yo deal with that witch anymore!

If you don't like Dexter Schools, please move out of the district. I'm sure you will find that Dexter is the same as every other district. There are great teachers and poor teachers. There are fabulous administrators and some that are terrible. Most teachers in this district truly care about their students and want the best for them. As far as spending money on school supplies, do you realize that the average teacher spends at least $500 of his or her own money EACH YEAR? I don't think buying a box of crayons or package of paper is too much to ask parents to do. Most teachers buy for their own personal children as well as spend extra money on their class. Good luck finding that "perfect" school anywhere on Earth.

Well, sorry, but it is a little more than " crayons and paper" it is every time you turn around. My child is in Beta, we had to pay for them to ride the bus and for whatever else the school thought up, when they went to the convention in November. Geez, I wonder if any of the the athletes or cheerleaders ever have to pay for the bus to take them to a event?.....NO! And teachers and Duncan thinks they are going to try out for the "Housewives of Dexter show", I wish they would tone down the dress code for them!! I am really thinking if home school ,heck we do most of work at home anyway.

Yall just like to stir up shit at the school. All that affair stuff yall was talking about got taken off of here so now yall starting this shit. Go talk to the district administration or board memebers about it if you have a serious complaint. Otherwise yall are just trying to make drama piss and moan.

If you want to bitch about the cost of Beta then by all means, take your kid out of it. Beta just got approved this year and the kids (including mine) love it! Take your whiney ass to any other school and I promise you that you will have to pay to be in Beta. Get over it or get out.

@ hush children: This topic never mentioned anything about any "affair" stuff, if the teachers, principals, so on and so forth are having extramarital affairs, that's on them! We are simply stating that Dexter School is all about who's parent has the most money. As a matter of fact we did speak to the administration and are going to the next school board meeting to discuss Miss Angie Duncan and her ways that she decides to discipline our children. It is not her place to scream, yell, and threaten our children, no matter what her title is! It is also NOT okay for these teachers to sit behind their desk and discuss with their daughter what they were going to do on Christmas vacation when there is a child needing help with an assignment. A child raised their hand and tried to get the teacher's attention but when this child blurted out in class to get the teacher's attention, the child was punished for another month! Is this what we pay the teachers to do? I don't believe my hard earned tax money should go to pay for teacher's to sit on their butts, talk on cell phones, and bully our children! Period!

My child is in Junior Beta, too. If I recall it was $5 or $10 which included food for the students. I'm sure there are some teachers' kids in Beta as well. They ALSO had to pay for their child to go.

@Dexter patent.-I couldn't agree with you more! Well said!@ sniff-you must be one of those rich parents who's child is Tagore's because of it. My child is on honor role in beta band show choir and sinks on the side. Maybe you need to go sniff some smelling salts and see the big picture. Try pulling your head out of your ads first that would be a good first step!

This is exactly my point! One parent makes a comment on having to pay for their child who is in Beta to ride the bus to a convention and some other parent has to pipe in calling someone a whiney ass and tells them if they don't like it then get over it or get out! No wonder kids are the way they are today! Does anyone have any morals these days? Apparently NOT!

I think Duncan is burned out and should do something else not invoving children. Its obvious to me. She needs to take a long look in the mirror and say Hmmmmm maybe I am overstepping my authority? When is that next schoolboard meeting I would like to attend and knock her off her pedastle she has placed herself on.

Morals? What do morals have to do with anything I wrote? I simply provided options.

What do you parents expect from us? We are forced to work 6 hours a day for almost 9 months a year. Of course, we get so bored - got to get some booty on the side just to stay awake!

A box of crayons and a package of paper aren't bad, but this year...baby wipes on the school supply list for a middle school student? Sorry, I don't think he's going to get sticky and nasty, but if he does, please send him to the restroom to wash his hands! My first grader's list was just as bad! And now that I've got another starting school next year, can't wait to see how much we spend! It gets worse every year.

@ hush children: What about US?(yall as you put it) Are you one of these "so called" teachers that are too busy texting to attend to the educational needs of our children? Or is it the affair thing that has your undies in a bunch? I could quite frankly care less who is having affairs with who, it's not about the affairs, it is about our children and how they lack in knowledge due to the teachers not doing their jobs! As far as the board meeting goes, some people have to WORK- A word that a lot of these principals and teachers need to know the meaning of! By the way, I'm not the one who goes on to a DEXTER forum saying I am from Germany! Now who is the dumbass?
