the right way
I think if they can't come up with the funds they should call everybody player in and tell them individually they can't afford a coach and be forced to look at the disappointed look at the students' faces. If you can't fund the vb program the right way than just do away with it completely school board. I'm sure it wouldn't bother Blevins any. He is always talking about how he would like to do away with sports so he has fewer phone calls. |

I'll vote for any school board member or administrator that will provide the funding to improve the sports or the education at Bernie. They are both important. I though the new administrators cared more about the students. Time will tell I guess.

Fired from Coaching NOT teaching. His assistant in coaching NOT teaching. I think all coaching in all sports should be fired and rehire people who are Not FROM Bernie. |
||||
We really should do something. Let's have a meeting and get a plan together. When is the deadline to get on the agenda for the next meeting? Every parent needs to get to the meeting. |

The problem we have is Bernie's rep. I talk to 2 NEW teachers just out of college one graduated from Bernie and they both said they didn't want to come here because of the issues of the past and the rep. that Bernie has. They said here you have to pick a side. If you don't pick their side they push you out, talk about you and make it hard on you. Thanks a lot Robin. THAT is all your fault! Everyone around here knows about the crap the AD got himself involved in and no one good wants anything to do with Bernie.
|
||||
We will not fix the reputation with comments like the one you just made. Let's work together to build a better future. Parents unite as one. Drive to school board members houses, go see the AD, if you have a coach in mind go talk to them. Send letters to VB coaches begging them to come to Bernie Have your kids talk to the coach, the AD, the administration. Make yourself be heard. |
||||
This is about volleyball only. Leave basketbal lout of it. I just talked to a parent at a local coffee shop. The parent is sending out letters to some of Bernie's most notable citizens encouraging the citizens to take action to do something good for the kids. It should be interesting if Bernie's most powerful citizens read the letters. |

The issue is simple, sports are now much more important than academics. You see it in the games and in the halls.

thats why we get rewarded for honor roll which we never did b4? I go to that school and no sports person gets ne advantages that i see

In my opinion, students should maintain respectable GPA's in high school. However, high school should be more about extracurricular activities, school dances and having fun. College should be about studying and focusing on a specific career path. In a way foucusing on sport prepare you for life. In high school, if you plays sports you focus on being really good at one thing. You do the same thing in college. You focus on being good at one career.

Folks Bernie got beat by Bell City who got beat by Lesterville who won the state tournament. You can not get rid of a coach for that. If you want the coach fired I would say your kid is not getting to play. |
||||
|
Guest from Illinois I don't know where you have been but the coach has already been fired.
|

The quality of the people running their mouth on this site is what got both coaches fired. If any coach knows how the parents and some fans at Bernie are, they will never come here. I went to some of the games, and I saw some of the worst excuses for parents and fans I've seen in twenty years. I pity the poor sap who coaches here. I agree it does not need to be someone from Bernie. Home town coaches tent to get treated worse. I looked up the scores and Bell City beat Bernie in three games. Then Bell City destroyed South Pemiscot, then barely lost to Lesterville who went on to win the state title. Bernie wasn't that far away. Nice job idiots.

What got the head coach removed had very little to do with how many games he won. It was just time for a change. Most coaches don't stay in one place for as long he did. He is a decent coach. He can get a job somewhere else if he wants.

He thinks so to, in truth he was highly overrated.

You are correct.

Erin Hoffman is looking for a job, get in touch with her,now. Other schools are already making her offers. She is the coach at Bell City. The best coach around. Do not drag your feet, Bernie. You have already fired the last staff, so finish it. She is a history teacher, if no openings create one for her.

1 I agree he WAS a good superintendent BUT his days are over with now. It seems like he still tries to run the school. Which I think is wrong. I lost respect for him when he ran the election (which he lost) I think alot of people lost alot of respect for him after that. He is not as important as he would like to think he is. |
