I agree with you bear. Why would they even have to think about it? If the driver "spaced it" was he on some kind of drugs? I am an animal lover and wouldn't do that to pets, but these babies are our future, they need to be cherished and protected.

If the windows were up, there is no way they are sunburnt.Impossible. Just saying. Still completely wrong and he deserves a punishment.

Yes, you can get sunburned through a window if the vehicle was parked in the sun.

The Company providing the "service" and the operator must be held accountable for this gross dereliction of responsibility involving these two defenseless infants,I believe that the parent(s)or guardian(s)must demand that this situation be addressed utilizing the legal system, the drivers answer of spacing it does not cover the seriousness of this offense, the infants were not bags of laundry or groceries, these are two humans!!

Actually, you can get a slight sunburn through car windows. I learned that the hard way on a trip!

Part of his punishment should be that he be locked up in the same van for 2 hours and see just how "spaced" he feels then. But it would be considered cruel and inhumane punishment.

I agree with you on this one. Thinking should not come into play on this one, he DID NOT think. Why should the cops think what his punishment should be. Lock him in a hot car for 2 hours with the windows up in the hot desert heat. I won't even leave my dog in a hot car. Spaced it, I wonder if he meant spaced out. You can sunburn through a window.....

Have you seen how the sun fades your curtains THROUGH the glass? That's those deadly UV rays doing the damage.

A "daycare" driver. Let's see... what are his duties?????? 1. Make sure you don't leave any "daycare" babies in the car. If those were my children, I wouldn't have to worry about what "they" are considering..... I would hunt him down. The End.

Apparently the company doesn't emphasize drivers doing a walk-through when they finished a run before parking. If they did this would not have occurred. Apparently they do not maintain a checklist of pickup/dropoffs either.

Certainly fire the driver and have the company review or change its policies in this regard.

"Spacing Out" or not, this driver needs to be arrested and prosecuted for child endangerment. No "considering it". He put the lives of those two babies in danger. Let a jury decide if he is guilty or not.

A parked van with the windows up must have had such high temperatures the infants were practically cooked. They were in the sun to get a sunburn. If they hadn't been missed, we;d be reading about fatalities right now.

The driver is supposed to have the safety of these children foremost in his head. Spacing it is no excuse. He didn't do his job.

What if a fireman "spaced it" and didn't show up to a fire? Or a cop "spaced it" and didn't show up to the bank robbery? It wouldn't be done because these peole take their jobs serious. Is it any different? No, all these jobs entail the safety of the public they are charged with serving.

This daycare driver was criminally negligent to the detriment of 2 infants. He damaged their health and endangered their lives.

There are legal liabilities when a person takes a job caring for children. This man committed an act of negligent child abuse and child endangerment in my eyes.

He valued those children and his job very little.

If a parent had done this, the parent would be laden down with criminal charges and facing prison. How much more this man should be. He was placed in a situation of trust.

If this company doesn't pursue this then they may be facing being sued.

So much to consider.

You Sir, are totally wrong. You can get a sunburn through windows unless they are special UV blocked filter windows. Better put in some study on the subject. There are many decent people out there looking for work. This punk high on dope should be thrown in jail. Give the job to a responsible person ------ and they want to legalize marijuana ?????

I do not understand how the driver failed to deliver (the most precious cargo he will ever have) in the first place!

at the casinos you will see dogs in the cars a lot... but at least for those animals the owners leave the vehicles on... I am guessing why they would take their animals in the first place if they're not seeing eye dogs or of that nature... what if the car stalls?
