Incredible story about the man of ST6 who shot Osama Bin Laden and how he is screwed. Nice golden parachute. Not.

We can afford to take care of people who are not even legally in this country but we can't afford to take care of the people who put their life on the line to defend our freedoms. Welcome to the world of the liberals.

as a disabled, non-retired vet myself, this story is so bogus

This Seal vetreran gets 5yrs full free VA healthcare and ALL health conditions that may be disabling due to ANY service connections will be evaluated and if found caused by his service he will receive cash disability benefits for life, just like any other vet.

ALL service members who contemplate staying in till retirement know that they must serve ACTIVE DUTY for 20 years. This 20yr term is NOT some deep dark military kept secret. He CHOSE to leave the service 3 years shy of retirement.

There are literally dozens of programs through the VA for job training, placement, housing help etc.

The veteran DOES though have to have the moxie to personally go to the VA, file the applications, attend the exams. The VA is NOT going to hold this poor poor young mans hand through the process, he can go to the DAV if he needs his hand held and led through the process.

Just a knee jerk, poor poor me, look at me sympathy ploy when all the help is there and used in the past by millions of deserving vets every day.

Thank you! I was wondering about his situation. I know some vets who continue to get benefits through the VA, my sister being one. Her entire health care premium for herself and her son is completely free to her. I know others who pay $8.00 for prescriptions. Much cheaper than our private insurance policy!

Which people are "defending our freedoms?"

Seems to me that the troops overseas aren't defending our freedoms (since our freedoms are being eroded further every year, no matter who is in the White House), but rather shooting up people who wouldn't be a threat if our troops weren't in THEIR country shooting them up!

I'm not sure what "domestic" means anymore, since our policy-makers aren't defending the interests of this nation, but yes, the real threat is from the power centers of our own nation.

Indeed....that's usually why we're force-fed a dose of partisan politics to get the citizenry riled at each other so as to make easier to manipulate/control the populace....

I mean it doesn't matter if two frogs are in the pot boiling fighting each other....they're still getting cooked and are distracted enough not to escape....
