If it means votes for them, congress will come together, be assured.

Speaking of, that would make for an interesting US flag. What other country do they wish to absorb at great expense to the mainland?

Would that make it the 49th state as per Obama?

Lol, only if someone in his administration understands math, and given the $16tril and growing federal deficit right now, they are few and far between! IIRC the deficit when the Obama and his math meister Timmy Geithner took over, it was just over $5tril.

Hmmm, maybe they'll add Haiti, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic to make it an even 54 states! Then there's the state of confusion, oh wait, that aka NM.

The spending is not only out so of control, it is also the example it sets that scares me.

I heard that, and when combined America loses. I smell a money pit as well as votes. I wonder which will win out<G>? Given we can't take care of the 50 we have now, why would we want another?

Exactly! The drug cartels are also so out of control that there are neighborhoods where the cops don't dare go in without a big show of defense. When we were there we were warned not to be out or on the highways after a certain time, carjackings are a common occurrence at stop lights. It isn't unusual to see cars racing next to an ambulance on it's way to the hospital.

As is you inability to comprehend anything.

I note your tin foil hat arrived, now there are four of you on Topix, SF, LC, LA and you in Abq. Or is that just you using multiple servers while stealing wages from your employer?

Puerto Rico would be an EXCELLENT source of tax revenues, especially with its tourist dollars. You ignoramuses don't know that if Puerto Ricans really wanted to live off the dole, all they would need to do would be to come to the USA, WHERE THEY ARE US CITIZENS as soon as they set foot here, and eligible for EVERY BENEFIT native-born USA citizens are eligible for. And you claim you are not racists! Posts like this, painting Jamaicans, Dominicans, Haitians and Puerto Ricans with the false label of shirkers and takers are blatant examples of your racism. Check your figures. Nobody hits the welfare roles and the food stamp roles as hard as unwed WHITE southern teens, whose kids ultimately wind up being raised by their Grandmoms.

So I'm a racist because I oppose admitting PR as our 51st state? Quite a stretch of ones imagination to spew that. I'm curious how you arrived at such an ignorant conclusion, particularly since I said nothing of race.

Why would PR, which is already a US territory, and the citizens are already US citizens, becoming a state be such a bad thing?
