It looks like it's bitten the dust and even Senator Reid and Piers Morgan are saying so in public.

It should be dead in the water. What killed those children was a mentally ill person not a specific firearm. We do have a problem and that is dealing with the mentally ill. It seems like no one has really addressed this issue yes each of these killing seems to have been committed by a person who was clearly mentally ill.

I think that the gun manufacturers would say that the ban has been a huge success.

IMO, I think a ban is in order.
Two issues 1)physical guns as it applies to the word "ARMS", 2)what the constitution implies for that right.

There is no reason why any civilian should have a weapon that can discharge a dozen rounds in a second. How about a dozen rounds in a minute?

The founders of the constitution had muskets that would shoot 2 shots per minute. I don't think they had in mind the weapons we have today.

Therefore it is purely a discussion of technology and philosophy
Yes all (well balanced?)citizens should be able to bear arms. No arguement there.

Just NOT weapons of mass destruction. It's the multiplier for the few crazies out there.

Muskets were state of the art weapons in their time unlike a Semi auto ar15 compared to the fully auto weapons the military uses. Oh and Stop saying what you think the founding fathers had in mind. They were much smarter than you and weren't some short sighted cavenmen like you want us to believe.

took off targets that MA would not allow civilians to use and eventually found that they had to go because they were offensive to most people.

Good, maybe the show will draw some of the Elmer Fudds who have been here in SF lobbying the Roundhouse against gun laws.

Yeah, who is going to take your guns? You have them. No one coming to take them. What? Rabbit Season or Duck Season. All you need is a double-barreled shotgun.

I'll be going just for grins, and maybe an AR-15 or one of those really nifty 50cal handguns<G>!!! Haven't been to one in years so it'll be fun. Maybe I'll find a nice big knife I can make a scabbard for since I dabble in leather working.

I do wonder though how many legislators will have tables there - Lol.

According to progressive zealots we have in politics.......
We're not supposed to judge all Muslims by the acts of a few "crazies",
But the acts of a few American “crazies” is enough to judge all Americans who own guns.

Where would have back-ground check have stopped a "crazy"? They won't get guns because of a back-ground check. Yeah, right.

A back-ground check will also prevent you from any future "craziness". An inoculation, so to speak. No one will figure out a way around the back-ground checks. All honest and responsible adults will follow the law. So that covers everyone. Right.

I shot a S&W 50 mag last time I was in Alaska, and it makes my Ruger 44 mag seem like a 22 short. Thing about a charging brown bear is that you still have to be able to get your hand cannon out fast enough to defend yourself, and you have to be able to shoot well enough to take the bear out. Fortunately, I have never been attacked by a bear, but I am told it can happen real fast.
