...point about the teens and cell phones. If they can afford to have a cell phone they can damn well pay at least half fare.

Good old moveon.org . Instead of pouring tens of millions of dollars into this far left group, why doesn't George Soros just buy insurance for the ones who need it?

I think the city is going to have a bunch of vacant positions soon- as they furlough, lay off, etc employees trying to cut their budget. These city workers will likely have to find other employment just to pay their mortgages. Maybe the Mayor should have picked a city manager with a degree other than in SHakespeare to make these decisions for him in an election year.
Better yet

why don't the insurance companies do what we pay them to do?

Isn't it funny how the right can get all of these people who are being screwed by corporations to be their apologists and demonize individuals and organizations that work for the common good?

did anyone ask the people who live next to the train tracks about running a train past their homes late at night? changing the train schedule turns out to be just another insult to people forced to tolerate the largess of the state, at the peoples expense, so someone can entertain themselves at elitist events. if they want to stay late let them rent a room, stay at ST. E's or sleep under a bridge.

You clown. WHO appointed you to preserve my rights? That is one of the problems with the far left and far right: you think you know what is best for the rest of and impose your will on us all. As far as I am concerned, you are no better than George W. Bush and just like him......"your either with us or against us."

YOU have a real problem. I suggest psychotherapy for extreme paranoia and schizophrenia!!! Now, crawl back into the cave from where you came and leave the thinking to the intelligent people for once. CLOWN.

Pray tell, what has the far left done to preserve my rights at no charge? It seems that they are always trying to start or increase programs that cost me and every other taxpayer dearly.

Personal and Civil Rights, health care/patient rights, religious freedom, separation of church and state, labor laws such as child labor laws, full disclosure from the federal government, womens' rights, protection from illegal searches and wiretapping, property rights, making sure that enough taxes are imposed and collected to maintain our MILITARY, our INFRASTRUCTURE and other basic necessities as citizens that we all take for granted.
Need any more examples??? Get a clue and stop only listening to the loud mouthed right wing idiots for once if it is even possible for those like yourself.

Leave it to an obvious conservative to only address an issue in terms of MONEY and his own BOTTOM LINE. Some things never change.

Only a dittohead or foxhole would buy into the myth that Soros donates millions to moveon. He donated $5 Million during the 04 election cycle and nothing of any significance since.

Because it’s a federal PAC, MoveOn.org Political Action can’t accept donations greater than $5,000. And in fact, MoveOn.org Political Action is mostly funded by people who give less than $100 – folks who don’t have a lot of money but want to see a change. Through 2004, MoveOn.org Political Action raised approximately $11 million for 81 candidates from over 300,000 donors. In 2005, MoveOn.org Political Action grew to 3.2 million members and 125,000 members contributed $9 million to progressive candidates and campaigns (average donation:$45).

With 5 million grass roots members, moveon is THE shining example of pure grass roots. Every major decision made by a vote of the membership.....including supporting tonight's candlelight vigil.

Yeah - those damn leftest cost the country a hell of a lot of money when they kicked the Brits out, brought forth a new nation. BTW: it was conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the that all men are created equal. And to allow that great nation to grow, they fought the conservative who wanted to continue slavery, deny rights to women, minorities. They busted up the monopolistic trusts and helped built the middle class. They enacted tax policies that, for 200 years (with a few notable graft infused eras) allowed for an egalitarian nation to thrive.

And of course there wwere all those environmental, civil rights, consumer protectionism, etc.

Once, someone used my stolen credit card to donate $2 to Moveon.org . I thought that was a strange thing to do. Fortunately, Master Card got my $2 back.

If you think that it is only the far left that has had a hand in your cute little list, then you are delusional.

You are the one that said the far left does things at no charge for my benefit. We've been paying dearly for all of the free stuff the far left has done.

Calm down roy ... it was your little leftist buddy that said theat the far left did all this stuff for free ... he was the one who brought a dollar value to the argument.

BTW, Lincoln was a Republican and it was the Republicans that passed the Civil Rights Act.
