There is a reason prices in Europe are so high...it reflects business having to raise prices to pay for the excessive taxations to pay for the government entitlements...

Excellent point. They owe you an explanation and reason for how they run their business. They no longer can run it outside the bounds of what we feel is fair. After all, they didn't create that business alone. Without the government, it wouldn't be there. We need more oversight over business and CEO's salaries.

Then on to sports and Hollywood.

Your eyes must be brown. Do the math, you're full of it. Entitlements? How about we tax corporations like we tax the middle class? How about we tax the capital gains like we tax the minimum wage? How about we tax all the "churches" that preach politics, hate and bigotry? How about we tax the hot air coming out of Limpballs mouth? How about we tax the export of American crude to Asia like we play margins on the stock market speculation? Now, if a cola cost $5, it's because a CEO is giving himself another bonus. That's where the real cost of living is.

To everyone bitching and moaning about Bimbo perhaps buying out the rights to produce Twinkies, have any of you actually considered that they might just make them better?

Look at the ingredients on an American soda, and then its Mexican counterpart. In Mexico, they use (gasp! shock!) actual sugar; here we use GMO corn that results in higher than normal fructose when processed into oil. You can taste the difference; Mexican Coca-Cola simply tastes better.

Any food that taste truly good is usually bad for the body, sugar being just one of them. Peanuts can kill those allergic to them too, as with anything else you have to watch what and how much of food you eat.

By the way it is not just the Hispanic people who get diabetes, it can and does attack any group of people.

As usual executives reap the profits while workers lose their pensions.

And the Judge who allowed it probably gets an envelope under the table for being so nice!

Sugar doesn't cause diabetes, dear. It's not that simple.

If it were as simple as changing the ingrediants then why didn't the CEO's simply contemplate on this. I guess Grupo Bimbo funded by the Mexican Cartels can now infuse their version of natural oils oh, like from the Enthroxylon coca or ecgonine alkaloid like in the good old days with the coca cola products.
Just think for the health nuts out there now you can intravenously inject or snort your twinkie and then this should tick up the purchase on bubble gum products for your die hard twinkie fans.

Don't forget the shareholders. I'm sure they are reaping the benefits as well.
There should be a law that if a company busts then the people in charge should not be compensated for it with bonuses and huge buyout entitlements.

Absolutely. You have a stake in the business. Shareholders only paid money for their stock. And if it were yours you would run it your way. Unfortunately you are left to eating its products. And that is your claim to that business.

They want to run it into the ground, then call in the feds. Look at the banks, GM and Health Care companies they have stepped in...Another well-thought out post.
