All of the adults who condoned, participated and otherwise allowed this to happen should be forced to take their own lives.

You morons are quite possibly the stupidest people to ever walk the face of the earth.

If you want to teach safe gun-handling to a youth that age, you start with nothing more than a .22 caliber.

Mr. Greenleaf gets it:

"Allowing the boy to handle the gun by himself was stupid and criminal negligence," said Robert A. Greenleaf Sr., 86, who left the club's board of directors because he opposed the annual machine gun shoot. Someone should have held the gun and allowed the boy to pull the trigger, he said.

Mr. Kowalcyk is an idiot:

"With proper knowledge and proper safety, they're no more dangerous than any other firearm," said Brian R. Kowalcyk

Charles Bizilj (Dad):

How are you feeling today? Idiot.

I hope your wife serves you with divorce papers at the funeral.

1 reasons machine guns should exist....war.
Other than that no reason at all anyone outside the military should have one.

I'm not against guns....just stupid people having access to them.

There is no concievable reason any child should have any kind of access to any guns, let alone a machine gun. What is wrong with people?! It's a world full of, "if we can, why not?", and yet the why not is never a legitimately asked or answered question! Unless you're a kid training for Osama Bin Laden or the Taliban, there is no need for a gun to be in a child's hand, PERIOD!

Dad is the director of Emergency Medicine at a Hospital in Stafford. How ironic. I seriously question this mans judgment.
The interpretation of the second amendment by the gun lobby is the biggest fraud forced onto the public.

The instructor should be prosecuted for negligent homicide. He should of known what it takes to operate a fully automatic sub machine gun. The picture that is displayed shows the instructor did not know what he was doing. A tragedy that could of have been prevented

No reason or excuse will justify allowing a child to handle a machine gun. People get more and more full of themselves everyday with their sense of entitlement. We seem to be unable to govern our own common sense these days, or just too many people lack common sense altogether! I'm sorry, but that Dr./father, is just as much to blame as the people responsible for allowing children to handle their weapons at the expo. They should all be ashamed and held accountable by the law. Change the damn gun laws already!!!!! The government changed them once the Black Panthers started carrying weapons, they can be changed again, as many times as it takes to keep guns out of a child's hands in all situations!

Having personally handled firearms including a 38 on horseback and a machine gun dismounted, I can not fathom what possessed this father or the instructor to hand this firearm to an 8 year old. The article does not say, but I am assuming the gun was switched to automatic fire.

My heart goes out to the family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

And to all the antigun nuts....there is nothing wrong with teaching firearm safety to children. This is a tragic accident which is the exception not the rule.
