WHY DOESN'T THE GOVERNMENT ORDER US AROUND ANY MORE?
___It Still Does--By 'Second Hand' Coercion

The answer is simple yet shocking: Government controls me by controlling my trading partners.

Government doesn't tell me to pay sales taxes; it just forces every business in Virginia to collect sales taxes as a condition of sale. Government doesn't tell me who I can and can't hire; it just tells every business I deal with who they can and can't hire. Government doesn't even tell me I have to contribute to Social Security; it just requires my employer to make contributions on my behalf as a condition of employing me.....

Governments rely on indirect coercion because direct coercion seems brutal, unfair, and wrong. If the typical American saw the police bust down a stranger's door to arrest an undocumented nanny and the parents who hired her, the typical American would morally side with the strangers.

Why? Because each of these cases activates the common-sense moral intuition that people have a duty to leave nonviolent people alone.(?)

Switching to indirect coercion is a shrewd way for government to sedate our moral intuition. Government's trick, in short, is to redirect its coercion toward crucial dehumanized actors like business (and foreigners, but don't get me started)...

I've learned from years of writing about what I see as horrific government assaults on the innocent that a very, very typical reaction--even among the types inclined to be reading Reason in the first place--is along the lines of: "if that person just did what they were ordered to do, they wouldn't have had the government harm them!"

Some sick innate desire to see everyone "just obey" often trumps that moral intuition about not harming the non-violent--even among people who agree with the meta-point that the order shouldn't have been made in the first place.

YOU STUPID, NAIVE AMERICANS
___Senate Committee Aghast At Distrust Of Government Spying

"To be clear, we believe the manner in which the bulk telephony metadata collection program has been carried out is lawful, and existing oversight mechanisms protect both privacy and security."
___Clapper, Alexander and Cole

"It's clear to me that the public has a misperception".... of how surveillance is conducted and how carefully agents adhere to the law.
___Fascist Feinstein (D-Calif)

“This torturous exercise of having to get continuous feedback?”...from the American public.
___Senator Coats (R-Indiana)

“I don’t think the American people are ever going to understand the Fisa court, how that works, but we do here.”
___Senator John Rockefeller (D-West Virginia)

"Our job is to support the FBI in their investigation. What we can do with our capabilities is speed, agility and the foreign nexus. And the partnership... with the FBI has been extraordinary." (I BET it has.)
___Army General Keith Alexander

A SANE voice in the crowd:

"Even a quick read of history shows that in America, the truth always manages to come out... the leadership of your agencies built an intelligence collection system that repeatedly deceived the American people.

Time and time again, the American people were told one thing about domestic surveillance in public forums" while agents did something entirely different in private.

Your joint testimony blames the media and others..." but this all could have been avoided had you "not acted like the deceptions that were practiced for years could last forever."

"LOVEINT" ("Love Intelligence")
___NSA Spies Snoop On Girlfriends, Lovers, First Dates And Wives

The role of the National Security Agency is supposed to be to root out terrorists. But it turns out that the agency’s spies have repeatedly abused their surveillance powers to secretly eavesdrop on the conversations of their love interests.

Late Thursday, details about the illegal snooping were released for the first time in a letter sent by the NSA’s inspector general to Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa. Grassley had asked for details about intentional NSA abuse of its authority following government officials’ acknowledgement in August that there had been “a couple” of willful violations in the past decade.

It was previously reported that some of these cases involved snooping on partners or spouses, known internally as “LOVEINT,” for “Love Intelligence.”

THE FBI AND THE EAST GERMAN STASI

Compare the FBI’s Gang Stalking methods to those of the Stasi. They are identical.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stasi#Zersetzung

Upon information from police, former FBI officials and other investigators, we know the following facts about the Gang Stalking Program:

The gang stalking Program is an illegal, covert, federally run counterintelligence Program. It currently has at least several hundred thousand Americans under 24/7/365 surveillance at home and everywhere they travel.

It has at least a million gang stalking group members, primarily criminal informant snitches, and misguided Neighborhood Watch program members.

It has the support of the government, including fire, police and emergency services. It has been in operation for at least two decades, and is basically a “partially-privatized COINTELPRO*” that was “ramped up” after 9/11.

It applies formulaic, programmatic COINTELPRO harassment techniques against individuals targeted by the Program.

(*40% of the federal intelligence budget is privatized. Most of these funds are allocated to military contractors and security firms with employees that have security clearance that federal judges and even Congress don't have.)

A comment and response from Targets of Gang Stalking (Cointelpro 2.0):

Comment:

These daring deadbeats will steal, vandalize and break in, every chance they get. They stole my yard furniture and ornaments, which shows, they are more related to street thugs than secret agents. The fact that a few cops and firemen are often involved, just proves that rogue public employees are for hire.

Response:

Same things have happened to me... so many, many terrible things that I have a hard time remembering each 'Caused Crisis'. As I am now.. I could watch a train crash 10 feet from my face and never flinch or jump. I have been stalked and harassed into a mental hideaway...where I remember the world, I can see it from here...but, I'll never be able to live each day with that "ant farm" life again...it's not a crime that you get sympathy for...it's murder of the mental-main-frame... they kill trust, relaxation, hope, basic desire, and so on...the entire goal was now to find them and stop them.

I have too much proof to believe I'm crazy but not enough proof to have them put away for life which is what they deserve. And, I wasn't going to write because...well, I hate writing about it... there is too much that has happened to say it all, so I can only detail a few events and I don't know...I know I have to respond no matter how much it pains me because...

This is a shadow crime, rare, in comparison with rape or murder. It is back-handed and truly an evil of man. However, I know that in say...50 years from now...or maybe 100...eventually victims will fight back...eventually this evil shadow will be brought into the light for prosecution and punishment. Not nearly as bad as what they dealt... but at least, someday. Maybe not in my lifetime, but someday there will be laws and special task forces as we, as good and decent people will come together against this.

That is why I made myself write... every time one of us speaks up...it adds to the crowd of us... and it's hard to ignore a crowd.

Justice is long overdue.

And.. PS-- I did call the FBI back in 07...two days later I was broadsided by a hit and run driver...I went through the windshield and almost died. Coincidence? Maybe...Maybe not. I try not to chase the 'maybes' anymore though... it gives them strength and ego to be noticed.

THE INNOCENCE PROJECT

The Innocence Project was founded in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University to assist prisoners who could be proven innocent through DNA testing. To date, more than 300 people in the United States have been exonerated by DNA testing, including 18 who served time on death row. These people served an average of 13 years in prison before exoneration and release.

INNOCENT AMERICANS PLACED ON "TERRORIST WATCH LIST" TO MEET QUOTAS

You could be on a secret government database or watch list for simply taking a picture on an airplane. Some federal air marshals say they're reporting your actions to meet a quota, even though some top officials deny it.

The air marshals, whose identities are being concealed, told 7NEWS that they're required to submit at least one report a month. If they don't, there's no raise, no bonus, no awards and no special assignments.

"Do these reports have real life impacts on the people who are identified as potential terrorists?" 7NEWS Investigator Tony Kovaleski asked.

"Absolutely," a federal air marshal replied.

AMERI-SNITCH
___Neighborhood Watch

Up to now, Neighborhood Watch has been a fairly low-key crime-prevention tool focused on break-ins and burglaries. But all that is changing, as the Bush Administration has earmarked it for a broader role--surveillance in the service of the "war on terrorism."

This "could fuel Cold War-style discrimination and censorship," says the American Civil Liberties Union, which sees the Neighborhood Watch initiative as part of an "ongoing pattern of erosion of basic civil liberties in America in the name of unproven security measures."

EAST GERMAN STASI
___Wikipedia

The Ministry for State Security, commonly known as the STASI, was the official state security service of the German Democratic Republic or GDR, colloquially known as East Germany.

It has been described as ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE AND REPRESSIVE INTELLIGENCE and SECRET POLICE agencies to ever have existed.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

CITIZEN PERSONNEL

Between 1950 and 1989, the Stasi employed a total of 274,000 people in an effort to root out the CLASS ENEMY.[12][13] In 1989, the Stasi employed 91,015 persons FULL-TIME, including 2,000 fully employed unofficial COLLABORATORS, 13,073 soldiers and 2,232 officers of GDR army,[14] along with 173,081 UNOFFICIAL INFORMANTS inside GDR[15] and 1,553 informants in West Germany.[16]

In terms of the identity of inoffizielle Mitarbeiter (IMs) Stasi informants, by 1995, 174,000 had been identified, which approximated 2.5% of East Germany's population between the ages of 18 and 60.[12] 10,000 IMs were under 18 years of age.[12]

INFILTRATION

Full-time officers were posted to all major industrial plants (the extensiveness of any SURVEILLANCE largely depended on HOW VALUABLE A PRODUCT WAS TO THE ECONOMY)[13] and one tenant in every apartment building was designated as a watchdog REPORTING TO AN AREA REPRESENTATIVE of the Volkspolizei (Vopo).

Spies reported EVERY RELATIVE AND FRIEND who stayed the night at another's apartment.[17] Tiny holes were drilled in apartment and hotel room walls through which Stasi agents FILMED CITIZENS with SPECIAL VIDEO CAMERAS.[17] SCHOOLS, UNIVERSITIES AND HOSPITALS were extensively infiltrated.[17]

The Stasi had formal categorizations of each type of informant, and had official GUIDELINES on how to extract INFORMATION from, and CONTROL, those who they came into contact with.[18] The roles of informants ranged from those already in some way involved in state security (such as the POLICE and the ARMED SERVICES) to those in the dissident movements (such as in the arts and the Protestant Church).[19]

Information gathered about the latter groups was frequently used to DIVIDE AND DISCREDIT members.[20] Informants were MADE TO FEEL IMPORTANT, given material or social incentives, and were imbued with a SENSE OF ADVENTURE, and only around 7.7%, according to official figures, were coerced into cooperating. A significant proportion of those informing were members of the SED; to employ some form of BLACKMAIL, however, was not uncommon.[19]

A large number of Stasi informants were trolley conductors, janitors, doctors, nurses and teachers; Mielke believed the best informants were those whose jobs entailed frequent CONTACT WITH THE PUBLIC.[21]

ZERSETZUNG

Tactics employed under Zersetzung generally involved the DISRUPTION of the victim’s PRIVATE or FAMILY LIFE. This often included PSYCHOLOGICAL ATTACKS such as breaking into homes and messing with the contents – moving furniture, altering the timing of an alarm, removing pictures from walls or replacing one variety of tea with another.

Other practices included PROPERTY DAMAGE, sabotage of cars, purposely incorrect medical treatment, SMEAR CAMPAIGNS including sending falsified compromising photos or documents to the victim's family, denunciation, provocation, PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE, psychological subversion, WIRETAPPING, BUGGING, mysterious PHONE CALLS or unnecessary deliveries, even including sending a vibrator to a target's wife. Usually victims had no idea the Stasi were responsible. Many thought they were losing their minds, and mental breakdowns and suicide could result.

One great advantage of the HARASSMENT perpetrated under Zersetzung was that its SUBTLE nature meant that it was able to be DENIED. That was important given that the GDR was trying to IMPROVE ITS INTERNATIONAL STANDING during the 1970s and 80s.

ZERSETZUNG techniques HAVE SINCE BEEN ADOPTED BY OTHER SECURITY AGENCIES, particularly the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).[28]

A Question and Comment on Cointelpro 2.0:

<quoted text>
How do you explain the world wide use of stalking?
It kinda goes with the whole new world order thing.

Reply:

No it doesn't. Gang stalking is a set of counterintelligence tactics. The reason they're used in multiple countries is because they work. It's the same reason that certain military tactics are used all over the world.

It doesn't suggest anything about a one-world international government. Communist East Germany was an enemy of the U.S, but they used the same tactics to control their citizens.

Gang stalking serves the purposes of counterintelligence agencies like the FBI - who have been using the tactics for decades to suppress political dissent. They used it against the civil rights movement and against the anti-Vietnam war movement, and now they use it against the Occupy Wall Street movement, etc.

The "New World Order" claim is a B.S. theory which counterintelligence perp's (like the disinformation sock-puppet trolls in these forums) use - just like the "Freemasons" claim - to distract from the fact that gang stalking is the work of the feds - and is largely outsourced to brown-nosed greedy intelligence firm contractors with security clearances.

Those people participate for selfish reasons - not for a global agenda. They want to feed at the federal gov't pig trough. They make some easy money, and they get the added benefit of the thrill of belonging to a secret brotherhood of brown-nosed piglets that don't have to follow the Constitution (a document which they don't believe in).

***you won't find THAT in your stinkin' history books.(Or, the mainstream media, for that matter.)

THE PERFECT EPITAPH FOR ESTABLISHMENT JOURNALISM
___by Glenn Greenwald

'If MI5 (CIA/FBI) warns that this is not in the public interest who am I to disbelieve them?', says the former editor of The Independent.

In other words, if the government tells me I shouldn't publish something, who am I as a journalist to disobey? Put that on the tombstone of western establishment journalism. It perfectly encapsulates the death spiral of large journalistic outlets.

Lest you think that the headline does not fairly represent the content of the column, Blackhurst, in explaining why he would never have allowed his newspaper to publish any of the documents from NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, actually wrote:

"If the security services insist something is contrary to the public interest, and might harm their operations, who am I (despite my grounding from Watergate onwards) to disbelieve them?"

....it does still surprise me when people calling themselves "journalists" openly admit to thinking this way. But when they do so, they do us a service, as it lays so vividly bare just how wide the gap is between the claimed function of establishment journalists and the actual role they fulfill.

IS THE NSA BLACKMAILING OFFICIALS INTO SUPPORTING SPYING?

Why are the likes of Sen. Dianne Feinstein so supportive of wide-reaching National Security Agency surveillance even as polls show a majority of Americans horrified by such intrusions?

Writes Stanley:

Sometimes when I hear public officials speaking out in defense of NSA spying, I can’t help thinking, even if just for a moment,“what if the NSA has something on that person and that’s why he or she is saying this?”

From Washington's Blog:

Tice: Okay. They went after–and I know this because I had my hands literally on the paperwork for these sort of things–they went after high-ranking military officers; they went after members of Congress, both Senate and the House, especially on the intelligence committees and on the armed services committees and some of the–and judicial. But they went after other ones, too. They went after lawyers and law firms. All kinds of–heaps of lawyers and law firms. They went after judges. One of the judges is now sitting on the Supreme Court that I had his wiretap information in my hand. Two are former FISA court judges. They went after State Department officials. They went after people in the executive service that were part of the White House–their own people. They went after antiwar groups. They went after U.S. international–U.S. companies that that do international business, you know, business around the world. They went after U.S. banking firms and financial firms that do international business. They went after NGOs that–like the Red Cross, people like that that go overseas and do humanitarian work.

It's not like blackmail has never been used by government officials before. The FBI's J. Edgar Hoover was said to be quite the master of turning inconvenient secrets into cooperative behavior.

THANK YOU, EDWARD SNOWDEN
___by Matthew Feeney

Watchdog organizations such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) had sought for years to expose the extent and depth of federal surveillance, but their efforts were largely stymied by the very walls of secrecy they were trying to breach.

After Snowden’s revelations proved that Clapper was a liar, Clapper attempted to justify himself in a June television interview by suggesting that “collect” doesn’t mean the same thing to him that it means to ordinary Americans.“Collect,” Clapper claimed, doesn’t mean intercepting and storing data about telephone calls; the data are only “collected” when the agency goes searching through its vast databases looking for specific calls.

“The NSA has turned the Internet into a giant surveillance platform,” declared renowned tech guru and Harvard Berkman Center fellow Bruce Schneier. Metadata collection that tells spies where a person went, who he spoke to, what he bought, and what he saw equals surveillance.“When the president says,‘It’s just metadata,’” he means,“Don’t worry, you’re all under surveillance all of the time.”

An excellent outlook.

NO TI should "bow down" to ANYONE. In fact, the tactic should be to make the whole "process" and "system" as difficult for the criminals as possible. This includes assh*le neighbors and anyone else just "going along for the ride".

It's necessary to make them all realize just what they've chosen to be involved in.......criminal activities.

I would like to respond to the original post by Lilith. There are many life long residents in my neighborhood and they pretty much know about other problem neighbors. I got an earful about one of my neighbors and about the prior owner of my house when I first moved in the neighborhood about 6 years ago. This same neighbor had passed away several years ago and most neighbors did not attend her wake or funeral. Myself and two other neighbors went to her funeral mass. It turned out that the woman was two faced and had often gossiped about everyone else. Some people seemed to have had their own attitudes about her on their own. Her daughter, who lived with her mother, inherited the house when her mother passed and went through a depression and at one point took her brother's son in so she would not be alone. From neighbor accounts, he was a problem. Her nephew in turn brought some people there to live with his aunt and himself. The nephew ended up leaving and his friends were left behind to live with his aunt. There was drug dealing, pit pulls loose without leashes and other disruption caused within the neighborhood late at night that had people calling police and the dog officer, who removed six of the 13 pit bulls. There was one ringleader who planted in this woman's head that one neighbor was going around poisoning other neighbors against her. Just prior to her selling the house, her upstairs tenants of 16 years, complained to us neighbors about the condition of their apartment and that in 16 years no repairs had been made, and one of these two tenants who had asthma, was having difficulty breathing because of the heavy urine and fecal odors from 13 dogs and smoke from the weed they were smoking was penetrating in their apartment. However, other neighbors got blamed for spreading rumors when her tenants really should have addressed the issues directly with her. They moved out and the woman could not rent the apartment because she could not afford to renovate it so she sold the house.

Is it really fair to blame anyone at all other than the people who caused the controversy? This woman took in these people and tolerated their behaviors and other suspected criminal activity. It seems that she deliberately subjected the neighbors to this upset and had no regard for the neighborhood because pit bulls were allowed loose and all kinds of noise was causing a disturbance late at night from trafficking. This woman drew attention to her property. Neighbors stated it was always a known problem area in the past. I just do not think that this woman was subjected to gang stalk, not when there is something called "Neighborhood Watch" where the neighborhood looks out for problems then reports them to the police if they can not be resolved. Attempts were made directly to the woman about the dogs loose without supervision or a leash and another woman went over late at night and spoke to the woman about the noise and this woman's response in return was that it was her house and she would do want she wanted. I do not think that this woman was targeted. The person(s) who got blamed for legitimately calling the police and dog officer were the true targets of slander and harassment in retaliation for asserting their rights.

To MA Resident:

NO. She was NOT a target of Gang Stalking.

The situation that you've described has nothing to do with organized stalking and harassment on a daily basis.

It sounds as if the neighborhood and the neighbors suffered greatly because of this one woman's actions.

Gang Stalking involves the covert, highly organized, systemic and daily psychological harassment perpetuated by those that have been indoctrinated through illegal means; and initiated by those that are "criminals" of the highest degree.

Targets of Gang Stalking are law-abiding citizens who, like everyone else, try to lead consciously moral lives.

Although this crime is not yet well-known, what Americans need to understand is that anyone can become a target of the "new", Cointelpro 2.0.
