Unreliable, Dishonest, A Scam, Untrustworthy - CORRUPT!
My family signed a one-year contract at this Cellular Gopher store. We were supposed to receive a mail-in rebate totaling $1450.
After we had received $750, we were still missing the $700. We then contacted them, and one of their sales agents signed a contract stating that we will get the remaining $700 in cash by June 17th, 2011 as compensation. When we received letters from AT&T one time saying that we were unable to be processed the mail-in rebates, the agents did not give us clear explanations about the documents, or as to why we could not receive our rebates - they deterred us away from the situation by saying that we didn't
need to worry about the documents, and that we could dispose of them.(...) However, when we arrived at the store, they told us to come back on June 30th, to be guaranteed our money, this time as a refund check worth $700. Once again, they signed another document vouching that we would receive our money, but once
we arrived to the store on June 30th, we were notified by nearby stores that they haven't been opened for business in 4 days. Their phone line is also disconnected, leaving us with no way to contact them.
Standing outside their store, were about 8 other customers stating that they, too, were missing their rebates - ranging from $400 -$1000 each.
The contract also clearly stated that our contract duration is one year, however, the official AT&T website states that our contract is, instead, two years, meaning that Cellular Gopher signed a separate contract with AT&T for us without our knowledgable consent.
I have also recently reviewed my contract, and in it, states that Cellular Gopher is in league with the company Simplexity (Google it), which is a company that scams customers with rebates that never get paid.

I can't seem to contact their office so I decide to go to their store today. Turns out their office has been cleaned out (the one in San Francisco). I tried contacting their other offices but no one picked up. Can someone find out what happened to Cellular Gopher? They still owe me around 600 dollars in rebate and I feel like they just recently jumped ship. If anyone is currently in the same situation please help!

I have the same situation, they owe me $800.
clearly this is an another scam in the chinese community, now we should consider how we can to find
these mice to get them punished.
maybe we can
1. file a crime case for the related department to investigate them
2. AT&T has some responsibility, AT&T did the business with them, let them to cheat the customer.
anyway we should united together to find way
to get our interests back. this is America, if you
don't insist on your right and interests, no one
will look it for you.

Same situation here. We just started a contract with them, said one year but actually was two year w/ ATT.
Called AT&T today with no solutions at all. Sucks~
Some victims on Yelp (including myself) are gathering together for a class suit. Anyone here want to join us?

It's definely a criminal case. Like everyone down below, I was promised for $1600 rebate last year when I open 5 lines. It turned out to get only $900 so far. More serious thing is not just losing money. They used my registered card to buy iPhone from AT&T online store. Although I disputed this charge and finally got the money back, but it ruined my credit when AT&T send it to collect agent. Actually I had to close my credit card account because they keep using it. I think every victims need to stay together file class suit against them. If you have same feeling or want to join me for the suit, please let me know. My email is [email protected]

I'm in the same boat, ATT just sent me an invoice for $639.97 for early termination of a two year contract. But I remember I only signed up for one year with Celluar Gopher. What should we do with this ATT bill? I don't want a negative reference on my credit report. Please count me in the class action suit.

Same situation here guys. I been with them for 2yrs, the first year was fine got all my rebate back.(didnt think it was a fraud/scam) until the second year. Never got my rebates back, tried contacting them at different locations and phones were all disconnected. Then recently seen the Ex employee eating at shooting star cafe so i went and ask them wth is going on? They put up a lie saying that they didnt know what was happening. Thats full of bullshit, your boss were the one teaching you guys how to scam people. Now they open a new store call 7 mobile? I heard they were trying tp do the same steps in scamming more customers. We need to stick together and get out money back or at leasr out of the fraud contract! And put them all in cells.
Any help getting out of at&t though anyone?
