Perfect... no rangers at the parks. Never needed anybody to show me around. Used to ride my dirtbike (as in motorcycle) around the woods all the time.

I sure hope that they work something out to stop the closure of our wonderful state parks in Marin. Some of them have important through fares that I use often. Like Samual P. Taylor and Mt. Tamalpais. Fortunately they can't close Sir Francis Drake Blvd. that runs right through S.P. Taylor park, but if they closed Ridgecrest Blvd. through Mt. Tam park that would be a big problem for us. It would cause some very heavy people to take the law into their own hands and cut out the gates, bring plenty of water and leave the locks intact, just politely and quietly cut the gates with an oxy-aceteline torch and Chuck the gates off to the side of the road, problem solved. We just spent big money less than a year ago to resurface and restripe Ridgecrest Blvd, so we will not let the the state close the road period ! Actually I don't think it will come to that, they SHALL work it out. Also they cannot stop people from using the state parks, no way, no how. But they are threatening to close the restroom facilities and not do garbage pickups, but people can still walk in and use the parks. Angel Island is a big question, can they stop the ferry from stopping at the island ? And Olampali is only accessable by driving on 101 up past Novato to the Redwood Landfill exit and doubling back south on the freeway to the Olampali exit, can they close the exit ? People can still hoof or ride in but it is a long way.
Instead of rebuilding the Cal Park tunnel for bicyclists (there is not enough room or enough money for trains), and all the other train projects, they should take that money and invest in existing public resources that benefit everyone and make California the great state that it is.

You're getting exactly the government you keep voting for. Pretty soon the government officials you voted for will restrict everythin you take for granted that makes life worth living. Take it away from you and then force you to pay, extortion prices just ot use your own property....but you just go right along voting for the government you love in California.

Say good bye to all your freedoms. You want socialism you got it. Its run this state into bankruptcy and now the very state parks you paid for will off limits to you.

Keep voting for thst big central government you love and you will inevitably everything that made California once upon a time a great state to live in...but no more.

I couldn't have said it better. It all boils down to this. WAY too much spent on the illegals and their anchor spawn.......it makes NO sense. This is why California is broke......

using the vehicle license fee to make EVERYONE pay again for parks so that the actual users of the parks continue to get acces is nothing more than a sugar coated WELFARE program for the middle class
Make the actual users who choose to use the parks pay higher access fees

Yeah, I've been asking the question why don't they raise the access fees for weeks now. Charge more for those who use them, even set it up to take donations at the gate. Is that too easy and simple and doesn't run the money thru all sorts of channels and people who "know better"?

OK libs...Time for a little object lesson. Pay close attention now, since I know it's hard to focus with all the excitement over "hope and change"...Here we go.

This whole notion of closing the parks is totally rediculous. When you think like a BUSINESS, you don't eliminate revenue positive parts of your business along with the revenue negative. Only a government operation thinks like this.

The nimrods in charge have no practical experience that would allow them to think as a business person, so I don't blame them.(They only know how to get elected.) It's the voters fault!

This is, of course, a scare tactic. The parks will be open. The fees will go up (in an attempt to offset even more of the revenue negative government giveaways).

Now on to that super-sweet socialist-lovefest - taking over healthcare! Won't that be awesome for all us "little people"? SWEET!

Charging a fine for trespassing, sending a bill for rescue, sounds like great revenue for the State.

Its like I have been saying for years, there is plenty of tax money. You just have to take it back, we are so use to giving them money at state and federal level believing that it was going to be used for what they said and then find out its not. Its time to take it to the mats. Tobacco tax increase to fund education and reserch only to have funds used to buy wet lands, tax for roads used to pay salary increases and we continue to pay pensions, while we are told to take our money and invest in the stock market. Does anyone remember when Social Security was not part of the budget and why it is now part of it. WE already own these parks. I'll give you a raise but it comes from your pension not my Social Security.

I can't wait! I'm going to squat in a nice park. Build a big homeless encampment with my buddys somewhere where I can get easy access to some good Coly 45 malt liquor. We will never leave. Nobody to kick us out. This is better than Christmas!

Thanks Arnold. Maybe I'll see you in your neighborhood?

The plan is to allow all who actually register their car to get in free. So $15 would be a savings for me over paying out $5 per visit. All the unregistered cars would be excluded. As long as rangers check the paperwork to to prevent stolen tags would this work.

Put a bigger fee on private golf courses and parks like Great America to support the parks. Put a 1% tax on camping equipment, picnic supplies, small propane containers, etc. BUT if Huffman closes the parks over cutting benefits to illegals, then let the liberals scream all they want. I'll take my chances on trespassing. Are they going to shoot to kill trespassers ? Who will do the enforcement ? The already understaffed law enforcement agencies ? Just a big scare tactic.

Isn't this all a little silly. I mean how are they going to close Mt. Tam or the beach for christ sake! It just means no more rangers and garbage collection. Big deal.

Closing the parks that bring tax revenues to West Marin and supports all the tourism and businesses is like cutting off your own head...who thought of that?
$15 is nothing to pay, Most people including poor people spend more on beer in one week..if not Lattes in Marin county. If this occured it would be a disaster for the local economy and the park would be invaded by people who break the law to access it, causing potential camping, fires, illegal drug activites, basically turning a beautiful place for everyone into a ghetto for illegal activities...since there is no money for police and fire fighters it is a worst case scenario. I cannot believe this would be considered? Isn't tourism one of california's economic strength. What is that big austrian brute thinking? Shouldn't we have our own revolution here...the iranians at least are brave enough to say enough is enough.

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Taurus

Try to keep your energy a little bit more under control. If you scatter in all directions, you'll end up hot and bothered. Mars tends to rev up your engine, but an awkward aspect to Saturn will make everything go in stops and starts. As soon as you try to shift into higher gear you meet immovable objects at the moment, so the solution is to slow down. There are wonderful, uplifting influences hanging around as well as tricky ones, so just hang in there.
