"Most of the fired Pacific Steel workers had been there for several years and were making hourly wages of between $18 and $25, De La Fuente said."

People who had no right to be working those jobs for several years are getting the boot. Why did it take this long to sniff them out? Tell me, what American, who is unemployed, would not gladly scoop up those jobs? So, this administration goes after the employers, the employers then fire these illegal workers. Nothing really happens to the illegals, and nothing other than dismissal is all that happens to these job thieves. Being the nomads that they are, they will simply move to another area and illegaly work another job that an American would have gladly worked. What the heck is wrong with this picture?

They should be required to forfeit every dime they made while working there since the money was gained as a direct result of the commission of a crime(s).

Mr Espino is illegal himself, and was taking a job an American could've had all these years, as far as being targeted bullcr-p, they should've know THIS MIGHT HAPPEN! THIS IS CALLED ENFORCING THE LAWS which had only been ignored all these years not targeting them, just NOW DOING THEIR JOB WHICH they were neglecting to do for so long. So they fired, I suppose they'll sue now?? never ending bullcr-p at tax payers expense no doubt.

Quote from the article:
Richmond Mayor Gayle McLaughlin is partnering with labor and religious groups to hold a rally at St. Marks Catholic Church on Sunday afternoon to support the families of the workers caught in the raid.

"Their firing is a violation of their human rights," she said. "When they say that these raids are targeting criminals, it's not true. People who are just trying to make a living are being targeted big time."
~~~~~~~~~~
What a crock! People who sneak into this country or overstay their visa are criminals whether Richmond Mayor Gayle Mclaughlin thinks so or not.
most of the blame should go to the "CRY SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE" who's planning to kill E-VERIFY LAMAR SMITH bill in congress.
So the government knows who the illegal aliens are, what fraudulent documents they used to gain employment and file taxes under. Now they need to investigate each case of tax and document fraud associated with these illegal employees. Nothing against paper raids but the IRS and FBI need to be given this information so they can go after these criminals and the criminals who provided them with the stolen or fraudulent documents. Based on the statements by the union representative it is clear that he and other union officials knew that many of the union members were illegal aliens. They as well as the owners of the company are obviously involved in a conspiracy to acquire jobs for illegals and hide the fact that they are illegal. I’ll bet the union management received kickbacks from not only the company but the illegals that were employed there. Sadly there will be no investigation and the criminal activity that has gone on for many years will never come to light. The silent raids are just a way of making headlines that make people think there is actual enforcement. In fact the illegal aliens, the employer, union officials, and the rest of the criminals involved in this vast conspiracy that involved hundreds of people will ever see a court room let alone a jail.
Oh, cry me a river. Not!
Well, gee, then you shouldn't have been employing illegal aliens. And, you have enough time to ADVERTISE and get legal workers. Use that time wisely or suffer the consequences of going out of business. An honest person can start up a new business doing the same thing, hiring legal workers, and making money.
Quote:
"Their firing is a violation of their human rights," she said. "When they say that these raids are targeting criminals, it's not true. People who are just trying to make a living are being targeted big time."
End Quote
Human Rights? It is not a human right to have a job. What about the human rights of the citizens who are out of work because these illegals took the jobs? Does anyone think about them?
Of course they are targeting criminals. Every one who is working is a criminal -- working unauthorized and either under the table or using a social security number that is not theirs. Gee, those using a social security number that is not theirs is a FELONY!
Give them time to correct the discrepancies? Give me a break! If they've been there 20 years they had plenty of time to correct an discrepancies!
See ya! Go home!
Americans don't want to work at steel plants? I am a few miles from the former Bethlehem steel plant and I dare anybody to tell my former steel worker friends that Americans will not do that kind of work.
Sadly like what is happening in California the steel workers here did not realize that the union was in bed with management and together they drained not only the company but the pension funds as well. The company and union execs retired well and left the employees and the government holding the bag.
These 3rd world, invading, criminals are always upset when they get caught and have to face the consequences of their own illegal actions. It always amazes me that they know damn good and well that they are here illegally and yet when they get caught in the net of eventuality, they whine and cry foul. I think there's going to be more whining and crying as time goes on. Time for things to be set right and the invasion is stopped in its tracks and colonizers are sent packing along with their illegal anchor babies. We've already paid more than enough for them too..
The article says: "Espino, who moved to Oakland from central Mexico some 24 years ago, said he is disappointed at the slow pace of immigration reform in this country."
Translated: Espino is disappointed with the CFR's inability thus far to destroy the USA and make the North American Union, which will make Mexico, the US, and Canada one blob of real estate.
Mr. Espino, I'm disappointed and disgusted that you have so little regard for the country that you've squatted in, profited in, and committed crime in for so long. You've had 24 years to become a legal immigrant, yet you didn't do so. Shame on you. You deserve what you got and you know it. Mexifornia is still part of the USA. Go back to your own country, if you have any self-respect. I'm sure you still speak Spanish.
